showing my ignorance here, i don't know why this is significant other than celebrating the fact the dog & handler titled , i suppose congratulations?
perhaps you could provide some back story for the unwashed heathens here.

Congratulations!!! Did not know that there was a GSDCA Trial going on this weekend. Who is the judge? How many entries do you have?

Many Congratulations, Staatsmacht.
SIMPLE FOREIGNER'S INTERPRETATION, FOR OTHER SIMPLE FOREIGNERS ! [ Don't mind 'heathen', but object
to 'unwashed' ]
VK The 'news' is in who is providing this trial and title. I'm sure you have picked up on the 'rivalries' between
GSDCA / WDA and USCA ? Over this past year or so WDA and GSDCA have become technically separated,
with the GSDCA saying it was going to set up (reinvent ?) its OWN working side. GSDCA is part of AKC, and many of
us were sceptical about whether that would really happen - or be any good - run by a Club that has up to now
been more committed to Show dogs. Good to see they have been true to their word.

vk4gsd:
I don't think it is possible but maybe you have missed out on things happening in the dog world in this country. In case you have been uninformed, some fearless prognosticators have attempted to lead us to believe that the GSDCA would never be permitted to hold events like IPO and Schutzhund Trials. The fact as reported by Staatsmacht is verification that those forecasters of imminent doom were wrong. But maybe you missed it.

oh all that fiasco, i participated in some of those threads but didn't really read them.
TBH, dog politics sounds as exciting to me as does staring at a bucket of dirt for 30 years.
thanks for the enlightenment, my dogs and i will rest much easier tonight, my gsd in particular was troubled much by these things, he never really said it, but i could tell.

by Sunsilver on 11 October 2014 - 12:10
VK, the GSDCA is an affilate club of AKC, which at one time (unsure of the date) BANNED schutzhund!
That's the other little fact that makes this so special! The WDA was created as the working 'wing' of the GSDCA, so Shepherd folk could still trial their dogs. USA is not part of the GSDCA.
Yeah, it's a bit complicated...

by Hundmutter on 11 October 2014 - 12:10
Oh Richard, I know you addressed your reply to VK4; but it honestly IS possible for the rest of the world
to miss what goes on in the GSD scene in America. EG Most people in the UK's GSD community, it seems,
neither know nor care about the intricacies of working your dogs to title in the USA. Probably only those few
souls who still bother to lurk around, or participate in, PDB, or maybe are active at 'world-class' competition-
level, take an interest. Many have gone to the much more parochial Facebook groups.

vk wasn't one who missed it, he said he particpated in the thread but didn't really read the messages first.
