We usually use a combination of fenbendazole, piperazine and sometimes mebendazole for deworming purposes. Anybody could throw some light on this that what is the standard molecule for deworming specially for the young infants when they are going to have their first deworming and how to calculate the dose.

I use Strongid (pyrantel pamoate) for worming puppies.. I believe we use 1 cc per 6lbs of weight for pups.... It's very safe and effective and it tastes good (yup, tried it by accident!!) so it is very easy to give... Baby pups are very sensitive to lots of things so I am very careful.... My adults are on ivermectin once a month for heartworms and other parasites and we have had no problems. However I do test periodically especially before breeding. Have used Heartgard and Interceptor (my personal favorite)in the past..... We never know the life cycle of a particular parasite that may be picked up, so treatments can seemingly fail...
