Standard deworming medicine - Page 1

We use a mix of Fenbendazole, piperazine and sometimes mebendazole. What actually is the standard deworming medicine and what dosge regiemn should be followed specially for the new born when they are having their first deworming?

I use fenbendazole(because its the safest I've been told)And it does a variety of worms.At about 4 1/2 weeks,(doing the bitch also),for 3 days at 1 ml/cc per pound. Then again at 7 1/2 weeks. Thats all I use and it seems to work very well for me.I have been breeding 8 years.I don't think you need to mix wormer(piperazine) and the menbedazole is for bacteria I beleive.

Using Strongid T or the generic at 2 weeks (1cc per 10#) Also deworm the bitch. Then at four weeks use Panacur 1cc per 4# for three days in a row. Then at 6weeks Strongid T 1cc per 10# At 8 weeks I use Panacur again for 5 days in a row to eliminate the infection of giarida also, along with hooks, rounds and whips. This has been working very well for us. I always do a routine fecal float along with a direct smear both a wet mount and stain to check for any other batceria. Hopefully this will help some of you. I have been breeding for some 20 years off and on and also am a vet technician. I always deworm the females with panacur for 5 days prior to breeding as it is safe in pregnant females.

Vettech I have always been afraid of over medicating. This sounds like alot.

NemexII 2,3,4,6,8 and 10 weeks. 5cc per 10lb. Mother gets it too.

The deworming medication is extrmely safe and can be used weekly without complications. It's over use of antibiotics, steriods etc. that I worry about.
