Just curious to what everyone thinks of the Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan. Most if not all the issues he deals with seem to stem from people not establishing themselves as the pack leader. Although some of the situations may be common sense to people experienced with raising and training dogs it is amazing what he can do with a dog in less than 15 minutes, proving the people need more training than the dog.

HAAAAA -- he makes me laugh quite hARDILY AT THAT !!.... --- although he has much more advanced insight into dogs then the average person and watching him can be a learning experience for those severly lacking knowledge ... he is quite deficient at times as far as pure canine behaviorism goes ---he is just like reading a book ... texts are just cookbook recipies for dealing with dogs and issues ... and that is most often how he presents , ESPECIALLY how he goes about solving problems , in my opinion .--- this bit about the alpha is way overstated _____ behavior and relationships are more than just about rank and BY solving canine issues with specific/preset solutions too ..much , much more --just like to many trainers that advise for this problem you do that .. and that problem you do this ..what a showman -- i think he should learn a lot more about behaviorism , learning theory , cognition , canine instincts and other things like behavior modification .. successive approximation and so and so on ---

AH Yes Alphapup--- Back to the old successsive approximation problem-- Please, do expound your vast knowledge. While 99% of those on this board are right with you, sir, have mercy and share with this unenlightened 1%. We pray "heartily" as you laugh! Morgan P.S. Why can't you give the kid a break??

Dear Alphapup, As you often are, you are right on concerning this issue. In my experience, it is ALWAYS that the owner needs the training. Once that is accomplished, it is amazing how well the dog behaves!

Man oh man, LOL There are soooooooooooo many self proclaimed "Dog Whisper's, and Guru's" out there now. I see them pop up on every general Obedience board as well these group breed boards.

The man is making money and his clients appear to be happy with the results. Some legislators and proponents of breed bans should see how he allows his dogs to run together. He allows rotties, pitbulls and vaious other breeds run together without incident, atleast no incidents shown on tv. Kyle

It isnt common to see that many dogs running togehter and on TV it looks very under control, I seen one show where there was a dog fight an all he did was say something and it was over. I like how he says that he can handle ANY dog, I would like to see him do some other the things he does with a really hard dog... But if he can help that many people, thats great, he's probably stopped a lot of dogs from going to the pound...
