Could someone please explain to me what they consider to be a balanced dog, front and rear? By example of dogs entered on this site. Increasingly I believe the new fashion to be overangulation of the rear. I may be very wrong. And would be grateful for any insight. What is "good" rear angulation. What is "very good rear angulation"? I realize I may be posing more than one question in this post. It would be appreciated if someone with knowledge provide examples via dogs entered on this site to make comparisons. Thanx.

I prefer angulations of the likes of VA2 Cash vom Wildsteiger Land (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/ gsd/pedigree/166.html). That's what I would like to term as a 'good' rear angulation. That pic on this database would have been taken around 1996-97 (thats my guess- he went VA2 /3 around that time). That was almost a decade ago. Times & preferences have changed and the angulations have gone steeper... not to the liking of many

SGBH ..... that GSD has great pigmentation. Does it appear in her pups..

It does. I was given the opportunity to buy her a month ago, but she was 7 weeks pregnant and I could not briing her back that close to whelping. When she is finished with this litter(during her next season), I am going to bring her here(USA). That is pretty much her actual color.

SGBH--- She looks gorgeous :-) Looks well balanced, very harmonious and she looks like she's got super heavy bone...what a nice, nice girl. I'd love to see her in movement. Congratulations!!! How did you find her???

A friend of mine, has a stud I use, Salo Vom Steigerhof. I saw an 18 month old bitch in his kennel and asked to buy her. He said maybe later, but I will sell you Quasi(this dog) now if you want. She was too close to whelping to put on a plane, in my opinion. I told him I would buy her(she's 3.5 years now) after she finishes this litter. He said OK, so I anticipate bringing her here in a few months or so.

Lauser vom Emkendorfer Park critiques in shows and breed surveys consistently note a dog with pronounced front and rear angulation and harmonious movement. He made V 8 last year in Germany.
