I would research all of the foods and their ingredients..there is some gross stuff that companies put in their foods..I asked this same question a few months ago and got lots of help, did some research and found there are some great foods out there but it doesn't alway mean your dog will like it or not be allergic....your best bet from what I've learned is to go with the least "processed", and least amount of extras, like chicken "meal", lamb "meal" that is just ground up bones etc..... and definately NO BY_PRODUCTS!!!!it may be just me but that grosses(sp?) me out!! I would look for something that uses "human grade" meat..

Zico, I do not know about the three listed - but I do not believe that they are the best. I like Karma (organic) - alittle $$$$$$$$$$$ but very good results. I add veggies and boiled chicken or turkey or egg each feeding with flaxseed oil. I think my dog looks great - and he get comments all of the time on his coat. My breeder believes in Eukanuba - so I mix the two together - therefore I am following through.

Thanks guys, Unfortunately I do not have access to Nutro in my area. I was wondering though why Science Diet is widely criticised. I have used this on only one litter and the results were quite good better than I have seen with friends who used proplan puppy. However, my concern with Science Diet is the main ingredients cornmeal and by product meal. I am still researching to see which feed is best for the gsd adults and pups and these posts were quite helpful
