Hello all, This is the place to come to for answers and opinions and I would like to have some opinions about this dog that I am about to purchase. Just from the picture and the pedigree what are your thoughts on her structure? Do you think she would make a nice brood bitch? I am rather green at looking at structure but I am studying and reading all the time to learn more. Here is the link to the dog, Netty vom Gimpelhof: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/426495.html or you can just type her name in the search cause she is on the site. I appreciate any opinions. Thanks!

Very nice on the picture. Of course sometimes it looks different in motion. Nice pedigree for conformation as well.

Hi IMO, when asking an opinion about someone elses dog you really should provide your eMail address for direct contact. IMO a dog that is not yours (yet) does not need to be picked apart in a public forum. It would be different if it was just a photo with no additional info about the dog. You will probably also not get the honest opinions you are looking for for that very reason. It is a different story when its your own dog. Email me privately if you would like to know my pesonal thoughts. What I can suggest though is since this is still a growing youngster, you need a more recent photo than this to tell you what this dog is like, and especially how she has been developing. This does not look like a photo of a 9 months old dog. Or, it would be necessary to know how old she was in the photo. Also there it more to a dog than structure. At this age, has she been prescreened? Will x-rays come with her? Do the x-rays have her particulars right on the film, rather than being a nameless x-ray that could be any dogs? What are her drives like? What are your personal goals? Will this dog fit the goals? etc. Good luck.

D.H, you are right about posting about a dog that isn't yet mine. I never thought about it like that. Reason I only ask about structure is because all the other things that you mentioned such as prescreening, x-rays and drive I already know or talked over with the owner. My personal goals and if the dog fits are things that I already know or decided. I am not as experienced as most people here so just posting and asking questions help me to decide if I may be wrong or also learn things. If anyone doesn't want to post on the board here about the dog then please e-mail me at clc8@comcast.net and I am Carl. Thanks!

Dear Carl, If you check the siblings of this bitch you will see that her sister Netti has the same picture (zoomed in). This is for me a reason for investigation...If you have access, I advice that you have a close look at the bitch before the purchase. The internet is great for its vast volume of information however one must be cautious about their origin and reliability...

Hello K-9, I think that this is a cute female. If her x-rays and temperment are in order, I wouldn't hesitate. Price should be normal. Her mother is a litter sister to a female that is producing very well for a friend of mine.(Note: Motherline goes back to Sagus)way back and not what conf. breeders usually brag about in their pedigrees, but also check out the bitch titles in this line. BTW, the sister moves like the wind and has super bitework. Good luck

I tend to think the dogs Netty and Netti are one in the same and it is just a typo. The pup shown in the picture according to the original ad placed here on the database was 6 months at the time of that picture. She seems like a pretty enough girl. Her date of birth was Oct 1 2004 so that makes her about what 8 months now? I would like to see a more recent picture,a lot can change in a few months.

on the comments of the Netti the breeder has posted that it was miss spelled and is really Netty.... She looks like she has very nice bone..large..can't tell much about the head. because she is facing away. Her top line looks good, but as others have said this will change with age and she could look very different now then when the picture was take, and she will even change more.... Her grandsire on her fathers side is know for producing very nice drives...(at least this is what I have seen and been told.) She does have a nice pedigree. Good luck Heather

I told you Carl, she is a good choice! Stephen
