In my own opinion... The male looks good however I do not like his back, maybe you or somebody else can post up a better quality picture than what is up on the database. His head is fine. Excellent pigment.. other then what i think about his conformation.... what are his working ability??! can he work? Also whos the female? that is also important.... don't just depend on the male to produce good puppies... depend on the female as well. Shes more likley to control the temperament on her pups, as the pups learn from it's mother :)

Thanks for the respose. The Dam is a VA (USA) Sharan vom Gamsetal daughter Roxi vom Gamsetal.

Hey K9-63 He is way to angulated...what I have found from dogs with this type of angulation is that they can't do much...that is they have a hard time with herding as thier bodies can't handle all the trotting and movement, and as far as jumping they have a very hard time doing that...going over the higher jumps ect. I do agility so this is something that concerns me. He is way to extreme in my likes. I wouldn't buy a dog from him...no matter who the mother was...I am going to go and look at her next. Heather

there is no picture of the dam...so just looking at her pedigree I see that on the sires side you have pretty heavy angulation and on the mothers side you have nicer straighter backs or normal agulation. With all that in mind you have more over anulated dogs in the pedigree than normal anulation...this would bring you to the conclution that you would mostlikly get a pup that is more like the father in conformation than the dam's mothers side. I guess it just depends on what you are wanting the dog for...looks like the male is not titled or rated...I will have to go back and look here I was really only looking at the picture...so I could be wrong in this part of it...but if you are looking for a dog to show and do well with then you should look for a dog that has parents that have done well not just the grandparents. Also what are you going to do with the dog as far as training..ie. sch/agility/herding/obediance ect. with this type of body you will be limited by the dog. Personally I wouldn't buy a dog from this breeding. just my opionion Heather

Well - where to begin -- I have to agree with HET - as I almost always do -- I ran the "mate-it" for these two dogs -- and your only linebreeding is 5-5,5 on Jeck -- So - I'm all for open pedigrees - but with some forethough and "type-to-type" would help -- This male is indeed, oddly put together. There are lots of 'names' on the pedigrees of both -- but that is not enough !! I have a JANGO grandson -- He is the sire of my male's MOTHER -- AND I have to say- neither the (V) mother nor my little boy look like this male !! I think ESKO can and has produced well - this is just not one of his top male babies -- and someone may be trading on the "family names" !! It takes two - as we always say - so maybe a great pre-potent mutter can influence these babies and they could be better than their DAD - HOPEFULLY -- There seems to be so many (easier) opportunities to buy better "risks" than this -- Whey isn't this male rated? You need lots of info on him - HIPS -- Korr Report would be nice -- Hopefully he is SOUND - but unless you've met the dog ?? Sometimes in photos - we can say - the dog is set-up poorly and if placed better the topline would change -- but it doesn't look to me - that this dog could look any better -- he is just odd (to me). Don't just get a bargain and be disappointed later - there are reasons for bargains !! Lastly, look at all the background - there are east and west crosses, spaghetti dogs, (nothing wrong with them) and lots of "stuff" all mixed up - it's like there was not plan or forethough given to the last 3-4 generations -- it's ODD -- that's the best I can say.

Well I do appreciate the insight. Pineridge I really like what you said about not just getting a bargain and be disappointed later. I guess patience is a virtue. Thanks all!

The old saying is: " We have no problems with those who charge less -- they know what their stuff is worth". Now granted -- that's oversimplified - but it's something to be cautious about. We've sort of had the same problem in reverse -- because we didn't overcharege - and people thought they were too cheap for nice puppies because they had seen lesser quality for more ! It's all relative -- what you're looking for and what you're willing to pay -- get references -- take your time -- My friend just bought a bargain for $600.00 in the NorthEast - and I consider a bargain here 800-1000 - Now he finds out - a few weeks later that the breeder has "disappeared" and he may never get his blue slip !! The "breeder" misrepresented herself and the dogs -- she did not own the dogs - she LEASED them from someone else -- she skpped out on the owner of the dogs who is owed money also -- Good Deal huh! That's why you gotta know who you're dealing with !! And even then, you can't go strictly on reputation along - because, people change, the dogs change, the world turns, and so does the worm.

By comparison -- take a look at the dog pictured in the add for Busso Kalher Heide -- now, to me -- that is a sharp looking dog -- just based on this one photo (it's not clear if that is Busso -- and the puppies have a VA mother (?) so it seems. Yet the price is extremely cheap -- even with shipping -- I only point out this photo as ONE comparison to the Male you are looking at -- I don't know who has these pupppies or why they are at this price !! My experience is that VA sired (or Dam) puppies would rarely be less than 1000 Euro's unless they are coated or have some other obvious fault. Some breeders charge less because the don't guarantee stuff - some charge way more than the actual shipping charges because they have to use GK or someone else to handle the arrangemenets -- and they make a buck or two while their at it.

okay - I see -- It's Busso's mother that's VA - the dam of the litter is a SG bitch who's photo is also posted in the database. She's not "as pretty" as he is but everything comes from the whelping box - so no judgements - actually, she's probably very correct !! That's what someone told me about one of my bitches many years ago -- Too bad you can't show her -- she's so correct ! Go figure -- When I tried to pick out the placements at a National - I sat next to a more experienced "friend" who said the same thing -- Oh, you think that bitch should win , why ? I said because she's "correct" ! Friend said - exactly-she'll never win here !!! (Not extreme enough!) With the american dogs -- it's never enough !! I asked a breeder of 6 champions if I could put my puppy in all-breed shows and be in the ribbons - she said why would you show her -- you bought a German Dog - not a show dog !!! Well, duhh, the german dogs have ribbons too -- What the heck does she think V1 means !! Kennel blind goes a long way -- If they didn't breed it - it can't be any good !! How sad !! You'd think after 20-30 years, people would learn something.
