Hey it may be bold but truthful :)
Since both Hubby and son are si fi geeks I have been forced to watch everything that ever came out on the space channel. Yup everything from Xena to Andromeda (yucky) . I immediately fell in love with the cast of farscape and the puppets. Honestly I didnt like the characters they played in Stargate very much at all. Farscape is the only Sci-fi that has made me cry so it wins :)
I still have a softspot for stargate as it was filmed local and the cast and crew were always very kind to the fans. And who doesnt love Richard Dean Anderson.....
.And the bonus is my hubby said I have permission to do Dargo!!!!(he has an amazing tongue) Claims he is secure in his masculinity...

Huh- I'm guessing you aren't taking your husband and son to the deserted island either. I don't know anyone who can follow the plot on Andromeda (although the final season got better).
