There are, in "our opinion" 3 types of PTSD
1) Those that embraces it, challenge's it & take's it on full board so we deal with it the best way they can ( this would be us, we don't hide it ) We take our Mali, Charlie ( remember that one that lost her left lung lobe already ) & we go to the VA center to help other Vet's. We chat about it, there are some that choose not to. But they can look at Charlie & relate to her and that is the connection we want. I think my wife would have rather seen me watching porn then hoping any of my battle buddies that might come home in with a one way ticket in a box. This video keep's me only thinking of others out there, oversea's. I so seek help for my PTSD.
2) Those who end their lives over PTSD.
3) Those who go & kill 16 men and innocent women & children in the middle of the night while my 1st Unit is in Afghanistan, now sending us e mails pissed off at the man/group for doing this.
Just like Dm, there is not enough info to make anything set in stone. Everybody can't be like you or this world would be oh so boring.

LadyFrost: I wouldn't be surprised, lol. I bet we'd be great neighbors, too. They kind where our DH's would cringe just thinking about what could possibly happen next, whenever we got together.

I was not going to respond, but the seemingly caustic responses demanded enlightenment. First, I do not see where one could derive sarcasm negatively in the title if they read the initial post in its entirety AND watch the video.
I do not know Oregontnt2007, but in her first sentence she alludes to the fact that her husband watches the attached video over and over (perhaps he was in the military...maybe this video is about a soldier/friend that he lost or an experience close to him) and she is helpless as she cannot "fix" the demons haunting him.
"I pray every night that this war will be over, but really is it just starting" is in direct reference to PTSD. When the blood shed and fighting stops, the host of our militaty coming back will still be haunted from the things they have seen and possibly done (hence the war is just starting part).
I am uncertain to the OT "rules" and previous posts from OregonTNT2007, but give it a rest folks. The seemingly personal attacks come across trite and petty.
Oh and before any cast stones this direction, I have served three times in Iraq and I am currently on my second deployment to Afghanistan.

What don't you get? The definition of sarcasm and how the juxtaposition of the word "JOY" and the picture of "TRAUMA" by a military wife who will soon be saying goodbye to her hero, in the header, would set up the reader for unexpectedly opposite emotions than deemed appropriate?

ranger, I was confused by the original post, that's all. Thank you for serving! My husband is an Army vet and my niece's husband (Army) will soon be deployed to Afghanistan. God bless you and keep you safe!

Bee this is not a blog battle, but I am wholly aware of what sarcasm means: Sarcasm- mocking, contemptuous, language intended to convey scorn or insult. I think what you meant to was was its IRONIC- the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning. Additionally, the improper use of "juxtaposition" when there is neither a picture and when the word is traumatic wise does not one make. While I agree the theme for the post may be in poor taste or not convey to one adequately the intent of the original poster, that does not give you or others the right to be snarky....as I said earlier it comes across trite and petty.
ggturner, please extend my thanks to you and your family for their service!

LOL You are one of those that lack vision. Oh well.
You need a better definition of snarky. Nice try. Or second try?
