Don Corleone

by Don Corleone on 12 April 2007 - 20:04

Like I said in an earlier post. Give me a hammer and chisel. I asked Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon. They're all gonna help. We need to get this sucker to float away before it infects the rest of US!

by LMH on 12 April 2007 - 20:04

You know, I don't know whether I'm coming or going anymore when I read these threads. So many new people, and I can't quite get a true fix on any of them. I see you're back 4pack. But then again, I thought you were posting under the handle 'lone wolf' (sp?) for awhile. Probably wrong--but that's what I thought. Anyway--Keg, I agree with your acknowledgement of the importance of Olskoolgsd's posts. He probably spoke for many of us here. Millions died for our freedoms here in the US. Freedoms, that in a 'blink of an eye' could vanish overnight. Sad to say, many are too stupid and thick to realize this--or would another appropriate word be 4pack's more poltically correct term "ignorant", (here, at least IMO, correctly used). Far scarier to me, are those that realize the passing of this Bill is an infringement on our rights, but because they feel safe (the repercussions won't affect them), or if it helps their cause--then--So Be It. Too many new laws. Anika bren---114 vs. 115--really now. But, I am with you. No one is forcing me to alter my dogs for their agenda. My reasons are my own. This is the opinion of someone who will never breed and is responsible.

Nathalie: Thanks for going to the trouble of posting all those names & addresses. I have been faxing letters, but did not have as complete a list. I hope people don't think this bill is automatically going to fail. There is an awful lot of support for it. Scarey times. Pits and the other related breeds are fine dogs in general. The overwhelming majority make wonderful pets, provided they are raised properly. The same can be said for many, many breeds. yes, fighting dogs is a terrible thing - that is an issue with the humans, not the dogs. I suggest you go to a dog show & look at the many APBT's, Staffies, bulldogs, etc.. I'm sure those people would be happy to provide you with the truth about their breeds rather than tall tales.

Sue, I live in Ontario. They passed a breed ban here. The article I link to below makes some valid points about the ban. It's the OWNERS who are the main problem, not the dogs! http://www.j83.com/print/pages/pitbull-ban-ontario.php

The biggest problem is all the people who let their muts wander the streets and breed. How about just simply, dogs without papers are to be spayed or neutered. Simple.

Keg, You are more then welcome to use anything I say, unless it's against the law. ha ha. LMH, you said " far scarier to me............" You said a mouthful. To me it's sad. "As long as I get my way I don't care about your rights". It's funny how we have become a country that is so hyper sensitive to "MY RIGHTS" but so unconcerned about others rights. Well, it sounds like it all worked out. Glad to see some will take the time to think things through. Buy the way, I am having a dickens of a time getting logged on. Is any one else having trouble. It keeps saying wrong pass word.

I just had problems around 4-5 pm my time. It said the site was overloaded or down for service. I'm guessing it was the former, as other people were still able to post.

by olskoolgsds on 13 April 2007 - 05:04

Sunsilver, Thanks but I think I am having some other type of problem getting logged on. Buy the way, that was so funny the other day when you said " keeping my mail intact". I was wondering why YOU spelled male MAIL. I read the whole thing to my wife, it was the best laugh I have had in awhile. I can be like a dog guarding a bone sometimes.

The real solution to pet over population is free spay or neuter to those owners that desire it (for their pets;) reguardless of income. Allot less complicated to work out than the proposals being put forth in legislatures today and would have a direct effect on the exact "problem" they are trying to adddress. Added benefit of no new cops needed to inspect all the homes and kennels that people will be subject to under the new law and you wont have to carry around papers showing you are in compliance while you are walking your dog. Then also enforce the existing laws concerning containment of animals. Question: When they succeed in removing the majority of pets from our homes what happens to the veterinarians, pet food makers and suppliers, pet trainers, pet stores(Petsmart are you listening?), and ect. ect.? Give these establishments the info too because it's their livelihood going down the toilet along with our rights. P.S. Thanks olskoolgsds
