Interesting video, and well produced...
How to behave in front of stock guardian dogs.
Lifestock guardian dogs: The correct behavior in front of Lifestock guardian dogs

This film shows to the tourists how to react on the mountain pastures in front of the guardian dogs. To facilitate the work of the dogs, the particular status of the dogs should be respected and some rules of behavior should be accepted.

A Conversation With Romanian Sheepdogs Guard Dogs - Wolf Killers

Outside Brasov Romania, stopped to film a sheepherder sheepfolds and his flock; guided by a sheepdog (working dog). Then got surrounded by about 7 of them in my car. Decided to face them to get some photos and film.

My Great Pyrenees guarded sheep, deer, and a mother fox.  She did not like my GSD but she was a great real working dog just like those in the video.

Vid #1 is about common sense ( a lot of people don´t have common sense any more ), whereas vid #2 shows Eastern Eureopean reality at least I have never seen before...

Very interesting

What are those pipes hanging from the collars of those dogs? It looks like its a deterrent from the dog being able to run. I've seen similar contraptions on cows to prevent fence jumping.
It appears the right ear is chopped off for ownership identification, like ear notching livestock.

I wondered, too...

Joan - I beleive you are correct about the pipes on the collars, similar to when small logs were used  hanging from the collar.     This will prevent the dog from chasing the pedator too far away from the flock or from expanding their territory too much, ranging too far.

second clip, what an absolute egotistical jerk that made the clip.

never happy just to leave things be and have respect.

clueless idiot has to to show how "bold" he is and "face" the dogs.

got to the part where he pulled out his sh!t in a bag to feed the dogs. good training to have those dogs later killed by poison.

would have been a great clip if the dogs would have tore into that guy and sent him home back to the states with with a few hundred stitches and permanent trauma.

all that matters is the jerk got his few minutes of jollies, to heck with ancient tradtions, he would undo them just for a fleeting moment of self-gratification.

no respect.

pathetic and sick.

I posted the videos because I liked them and found them informative as well.
Joanro Said: What are those pipes hanging from the collars of those dogs?
The narrator said the pipes on the collar are for leading the dogs around. The spikes on the collar make it hard to grab by the collar. Interesting how they crop just one ear in that pack in the second video, and as susie said, the first video is about common sense, but a lot of people no longer grow up around any animals or even have a yard, so, the explanation is needed.

Notice the red dog is a blue :)

'The narrator said the pipes on the collar are for leading the dogs around.' <<< That sounded like a question to me, as the narrator was also wondering what the purpose was. The spikes are for protection from wolf jaws, so what in the world does any one need to lead those dogs around for. Stead of an annoying pipe hanging from the collar, just carry a rope and put it around the neck if the dog needs leading. Lineage, wasn't the narrator the person who videoed the dogs ? he stopped to see them and make friends or something. Hand feeding them pedigree dog food from the back of his car.?

Yes, you are right...

It all looks very home made as well, In a wolf video I had posted a while back, the handler had a chain in place of rope and said the wolf had chew through many a rope and on the sledge video the owner used wire on an area of the sledge that one dog in the team kept chewing through.

In comments one poster calls the sticks "Dangle Sticks" the other Says "Bite Sticks" for wolves or foreign dogs to bite on in place of the dog's neck One comment says it's the bears you need to worry about.

Another...
" The dangle sticks (Jujau) is to prevent the shepard dogs to catch and kill the wildlife of the area ,a pack of shepard dogs can easy knoked down a wild boar or a deer so the shepard is obligated by the law to put the dangle on his dogs." and, it also serves as a lead.
