Hi! Im trying to purchase a German Shepard pup for my little family I’ve been reading a lot about it and trying to understand as much before I pick the right one.. I have one in mind but i need a little more info about her .. above is a link to her page her name is Aphrodite very beautiful pup but how do I know that the guy is telling the truth about the information about my pup ???

You need to give us a lot more information What has he told you What health test have the parents had and proof. Who are her parents and grandparents Have you seen the parents registration papers in his name Have you seen the pups registration papers What shots have been given to the pup.

I look at everything when I'm looking at someone's web-site...It takes a lot for me to believe someone's web-site...There's too many dis-honest people out there...
Have you seen the puppy...parents?
If you have someone that's an experienced GSD person...then ask them to go with you to look at the puppies...

P.S. I would go a look at the puppies with the idea of NOT BUYING that day...then go home and mull it over...then make a decision...

A honest GSD breeder will
- show the pedigree of a litter ( we are talking about a breed, not talking about mutts )
- tell you about any accomplishment ( trials/shows ) because the breeder is proud of it ( be it AKC or SV )
- tell you about the official HD/ED ratings because they want to produce healthy puppies, be it OFA or SV
- most serious GSD breeders don´t cross black/tan versus white
- give you a written puppy contract ( HD/ED, overall health )
There are a lot of people who breed dog x to dog y. Thanks to AKC, no matter health, conformation, working ability, even unhealthy, untested dogs will get AKC pedigrees, and $ 800 is not much money for a GSD bred in the USA.
There are some topics on this board about "honest breeders" - I´d search for those topics and read them.
Afterwards I´d decide what kind of GSD I want to own.

There is obviously no planned breeding program for this kennel. They have FOUR different types of German shepherds as sires: German show lines, both long and stock coat, German working lines, white german shepherds, and American show lines.
A reputable breeder focuses on one particular line of dog, and works with that line to get what he or she wants from it. They do not produce multiple litters of puppies from different lines.
I would say this breeder is breeding pets for money, and probably has very little understanding of what makes a good shepherd.
The pictures of their breeding stock is done in a very amateurish way, and very few of the dogs have their pedigrees posted. This could mean the dogs are not registered (though the ad says they are - I'd want to see the proof, though.)
Something else I noticed: one of the males has his name spelled "Ruger" in his photo, and "Rugar" on the photo link. Very careless! You don't care enough about your dog to even spell the name correctly?? Not impressed!

go onto akc.org look up your breed and look for a breeder of merit or a breeder with heart, club memberships, active in show/obedience
