Well, he definitely has balls....lol!

Looks pretty good, but I'd like to see the ball joint a bit better developed. It's almost the same size as the neck of the femur. Should be a pass, though.

Those look like the exact same dog as in the original post, just slightly different positioning and exposure. Neither xray shows awesome hips due to the shallow sockets and the subluxation - I would guess OFA Mild.

Forever you are right same dog. 1st set was Penn hip and the other was OFA. Who uses Penn hip and OFA and why? And these were done about 3 weeks apart. Can you guess the results? Oh and they were done at two different vets.

Thanks
Steve

What is the DI on your pennhip score?
Where are the other 2 views??

These kind of hips are why I use pennhip..  because you can tell so much better what to do with them.

They look lax, sorta just sitting in the sockets..  no definition to the necks.
But the dog has good muscle..  so how lax were they really? What did OFA prelim rate them??
Historically, they like these "kind" of hips...

If you xray the dog over time, you can really see degenerative changes on high DI and no necks, even though you get a "pass" from OFA.

Biggest reason why we get nowhere in improving hips in our breed.

My guess is still OFA Mild, with not-great PennHIP DIs due to the subluxation in the right hip. I did both OFA and PennHIP on my dogs. My male is OFA Good and PennHIP 0.17/0.20 (>90th percentile). Our (BYB, spayed, pet) female is OFA Mild HD and PennHIP 0.35/0.45 (40th percentile). PennHIP recommends breeding dogs in the tighter 50% of the population.

right DI = 0.48
Left DI=0.56
overall=0.56
The vet did say he woke up during the procedure. Not sure if that affected it. I'll have to try and post the other 2 films after work.
Now OFA rated them as good.
