I came across this video and wanted to share and maybe start some discussion around as I figure some of you know him personally. I dont know him but have heard others talk highly of him and his breeding. If nothing else, i hope that you enjoy the video

It's a good video, Bill has done a lot for the breed in the United States.

But sorry most important for real good working dogs are strong solid nerves IMO

Have seen too many dogs with great drives and temper but weak nerves.

What is today protection work with a sleeve.....?. any dog hig prey drive dogwith not so strong nerves  can do this today .Dogs today almost never gonna be tested on real protection.

 

You're right buddy...a suit is SO DIFFERENT from a sleeve for most dogs. ;)

A dog who is man focused is different than a dog who is focused only for the sleeve just saying.

Another guy who contributed to ruining the breed , claims he trains and owns protection dogs !! 🙈 A dog trained In protection sports isn't a protection dog, 99% of ipo/sch dogs are absolutely incapable of any real protection work due to the new approach to training ( all prey ) and breeding out the defense and hardness.. today's working line gsd is nothing more than a Black and Tan Labrador whose trained in a glorious game of thug of war and that's a FACT.

There are some good real protection trainers also in the GSD world but this are not the
flashy worldwide comercial sport kennels, But it will be more and more a rare find today.

Most kennels and people don,t care anymore ...
