I want to ind out what kind of dog was he and what did he produce in his offspring's. The reason being is because while researching the old Policia lines such as Car Policia i see most of the time they were line-bred on Ingo or through is son Held vom Ritterberg

Ingo was linebred close on Ex who was a product of inbreeding himself, IMO that is the reason these where stronger producers than most of todays dogs who are, at best a result of an accidental 4-5 linebreeding

Im actually frustrated, i have been researching if any of these lines continue to out-cross or line-breed on those old ddr lines and for the past 2 week to 3 weeks i have found nothing eventually they breed to other czech,slovak or belgian dogs or sometimes even to show dogs. Personally the best structure i have seen on dogs was usually the old czech lines being bred to the ddr. My only hope rests with 2 dogs on my list Carla von den Glinziger and Otina Ben-ju.

I owned some dogs linebred 4-4 on Ingo. Thought they were all nice. One of them was the bi-colored female that I posted a video of her BH routine on another thread. I gave bites to a grandson, a few great grandson and a great granddaughter of him. They were all well bred dogs and it was no accident that were all strong working dogs. I have an old video tape I recorded at a seminar from the 90s were an older Belgian police officer is talking about the DDR dogs and I believe Ingo was one of them. Ex through Ingo through Held was my main line for about twenty years...through both DDR dogs and Czech dogs.

Such a shame i guess this one of the reasons why the current ddr or czech dogs are not as good as they used to be, ive seen som czech dogs having lord vom gleisdreieck in their pedigree or are linebred on him what does he produce in his progeny.

IMO, today's so called DDR dogs are pseudo DDR dogs. What do you mean when you say the current Czech dogs are not as good as they used to be? Can you give some examples of some older Czech does that you liked and why? There are not that many pure Czech breedings out there today and IMO, if you find the right blend, you can get some very nice dogs.

I agree with the first statement, the current Czech dogs are being bred for sports work most of the time which isn't my interest at all not all sports bred dogs can deal with LE jobs in fact majority cannot handle it, another thing that i have noticed if you look at the old z Ps lines structurally they were very similar to the DDR which isn't a surprise and if you look at the current Policia-Slovakia lines structurally they have changed quite a lot as they no longer use the DDR dogs in their breeding but if you go back to the old Policia lines in my opinion they are structurally sound. Not too big, not too short, don't have a massive head but neither a small head, they don't have big thick bones but neither thin bones etc....

Compare the structure of Aida Eqidius to Faro Policia and im not saying the Eqidius bloodline is bad its just that they were bred for sports as most Czech breedings are. The Czech blends nowhere days is with Belgian or other Czech line sometimes even west working lines. Structurally the Belgian dogs look very good.

I was referring more to what temperament traits you like in the older Czech lines. My current dog goes back to Czech, Slovak West German and old DDR dogs. He has some Eqidius dogs close up. I am confident he would bite for real and has some real aggression. The breeder told about one of the Eqidius dogs close up that he imported apprehended an intruder and protected his owner at 14 years of age. I think you have to know about the individual dogs in a pedigree and what they tend to produce, rather than saying Eqidius Kennel is breeding for sport and so are most Czech breeders. I believe there is some truth to that, but some of those breeders are trying to diversify the gene pool and still produce working dogs. Very good dogs that could be operational are not that common.

They are not overly social dogs they prefer not to be touched by strangers but didnt mind them or were indifferent to them, but what i dont like about them was that they were very hard to handle and control fortunately that aspect of the temperament has been diluted, they were dogs who were confident and was not nervous of anything they adjusted to the different environments they were in easily. I have heard of some of them being able to do some herding which is excellent as the GSD was created to be a multi purpose breed. The EquIdius lines has some serious dogs in theri pedigree but its not frequent enough to produce consistent working dogs for LE
