excerpt;
YEC is a fine example of the worst kind of isolationist intellectual disengagement to come out of Christian fundamentalism since the Roman Catholic church determined to stubbornly hold to Ptolemaic geocentrism in the face of clear evidence to the contrary from the likes of Copernicus, Kepler and Galileo. And, like YEC, all because of an erroneus and rigid interpretation of scripture.
If ever non-Christians could right accuse Christians of ‘blind faith’ – stubbornly believing in something despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary – YEC would take the cake.

Anybody who has a brain and actually looks at the evidence will refute a young Earth. I watched a documentary last year where they took YECs on a "field trip", to show them evidence, first hand. Most of them accepted the evidence, but there was one guy who was immersed in his religion and he about lost his mind, literally. His world was falling apart before his very eyes and he wasn't able to handle it, I actually felt sorry for him.
