Kids For Cash Judge Gets 28 Year Prison Sentence

The "kids for cash" scandal unfolded in 2008 over judicial kickbacks at the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Two judges, President Judge Mark Ciavarella and Senior Judge Michael Conahan, were accused of accepting money from Robert Mericle, builder of two private, for-profit juvenile facilities, in return for contracting with the facilities and imposing harsh sentences on juveniles brought before their courts to increase the number of inmates in the detention centers.[1][2]

I know that case well Lineage, I'm in PA. 

It is an atrocity.  Inmates do not get proper physical or mental health care if they receive any care.  It's a big scandal in Florida because our re-elected governor is one of the biggest supporters of for-profit-prisons.   John Oliver had an interesting short segment on for-profit-prisons.  The easiest way to fill prisons is with marijuana busts, one of the reasons states with for-profit prisons don't want marijuana legalized.
