It is this weekend... wow, here we are back to the horses, again! What is the track going to be like? I just looked at your list and took the names that popped out at me:
5-California Chrome under Victor Espinoza
4-Danza under Joe Bravo
12-Dance With Fate under Corey Nakatani
I then read up that California Chrome is the favorite, described as "blazing fast. I had Danza ahead of him, in my head, until read that. Adore the name, Joe Bravo, too. Had to go with that one. And then my third place choice? You tell me, lol!
BE, you will give us your knowledgeable picks after a time, I hope?

I dunno BeeTree, my pick to win was scratched this morning. LOL

I honestly don't think California Chrome will win. He's never raced outside his home state for starters. His daddy never won a race longer than 5½ furlongs either. Also, he's a wide turn runner .. soo if he get's hole number one .. he's done on the 1/4 pole. I say he'll place 4th or later at best.
Sooo exciting though !!! Did you see the life time workout results for these horses ?

Did you see Wise Dan win his race?
Fast track, too. Got some sun myself, today. Looks like California Chrome us still the favorite forthe Derby.

California Chrome wasn't my favorite but after hearing his story and his trainers story, I wanted him to win. It's nice to see hard work pay off for the average guy.
Also, the horse reminded me of Secretariat, not only in statue, coloring and markings but his racing style.

I was totally not expecting that !!
Great race !!

Yes I felt the same way , CLc29, and when Jackie from California text me their boy won I was exciteingly glad..\
The owner , 77yrs old is a very humble man...and he deserved it after all his years of being behind the scenes and only taking his time in life to do his job he loved.
Well deserved. And of course , the jockey was the trigger that made him finish the job effeciently... I missed watching it..
NOW how much more will California Chrome do??

Sounded like the jockey let the horse win...he said he stayed out of the horse's way and let him run his race. Love the attitude and ability of the jockey and not having so much ego that he can't go WITH the horse and not interfere withh his race.
Best K Derby in years. Here's hoping for the best for them and perhaps a Tripple Crown winner this year.
