Approximately 70,000 firefighters injured in the line of duty in 2012
64 Line of Duty Deaths (LODD) in 2012
Approximately 32M fire calls in 2012
Between 25-30 Firefighter suicides each year
Furniture can ignite without direct flame contact at 400-500F
Flames travel at 10-15 feet per second
Firefighters experience thermal environments ranging from 1,300 to 1,900F post flashover
Flashover is simultaneous combustion of entire room and contents vs Flameover/Rollover which is superheated combustible gases along ceiling ignite - both when room air/gas temperature reaches 900F
