Demanet suits are excellent, so are Seynaeve suits. We have Ray Allan suits and no one wears them. Too bulky and offer only moderate protection for all of that extra bulk. We have given Hard Dog suits away, I'm not a fan. The suits we prefer are the Demant and the Seynaeve. I often work dogs in a competition Demanet suit or a semi comp. Most of the guys don't like the comp suit because it is thin and you feel the bites and by the end of the day you are pretty black and blue. The Seynaeve is a semi comp with heavier padded arms and is pretty nice and comfortable.
Currently we buy two suits a year, we have two Demanet, three Ray Allen suits (that rarely get used), two hard dogs suits that no one will use, and a Seynaeve. Next year we will buy either Demanet or Seynaeve. We will probably never buy another Ray Allen and absolutely will not buy a Hard dogs suit ever again. We have a 10 year old or older Demanet suit that is still being used every week. That is actually my favorite suit.

I have to ditto what Slam said. I used to work in a Ray Allen suit and I was not a fan at all. I hated it. Lots of bulk and what do you get for it? Very limited ROM compared to the other suits and weak spots where you wonder where all that padding went. I thought it was almost useless really. I really hated wearing that thing, but I was training PD's I didn't have my own suit yet so I used their Ray Allen every week. So glad I never have to wear that thing again. Have never used a harddog suit. Demanet and Seynaeve have easily met my expectations.

Zdog,
That is very true.
About the only thing we use the Ray Allen or Hard dog suits is to give new decoys a false sense of confidence.
If they are trying out for the unit, we need to know that they can handle getting in the suit and aren't afraid of the dogs. getting bit and feeling some pain. The big bulky suits lets them think they are fully protected. Then they come out black and blue and sometimes with punctures. We offer them a choice of suits to wear and I tell them what we prefer and they decide. During our eval of them, the ones that perform well and complain the least get higher points. There is no crying or whining in decoying, you just suck it up. You will feel the bites in the comp suit, but that is part of training. A gauntlet stops the titanium teeth that go through the suit. The thinner, more fitted suits actually offer better mobility and protection.

thanks info, i deliberately excluded dem and syn as i was under the conclusion that they were not really suit for everyday work, less robust and not long wearing?? thought they more of a comp type deal.
no reveiwes on elite k9 products.
if you think that little of harddog suits then what you think of their muzzles?

IMHO, Elite K9 suits are in the same category as Hard dogs. I tried to upload a picture but it wouldn't work right. Ray allen is the best of the three you mentioned, but no where as good as Demanet or Seynaeve.

I 3rd the dislike of Ray Allen. Too bulky, by far. Seynaeve suits are good.

Has anyone tried the new Ray Allen Trainers Bite Suit or the Kimono Lite? With the new trade in program (up to $500 trade in on any Demanet, Roca Sport or Ray Allen full suit) The price of a Ray Allen is pretty good
