This tragedy could have been prevented! What ever goes through any parents' mind to give a five year old a .22 caliber weapon? Insanity! God bless poor Caroline and her brother too, for being set up for this failure. And this weapon is specifically marketed for children. Makes me sick to think that this is considered acceptable and desirable to the point there exists a market, and it has a consumer base stupid enough to support it.

They have made youth rifles for years, they have pink hand guns for ladies too...
I agree 5 is too young, and the parents must be total idiots, now they will live with their mistake.
One less idiot doesn't help much but it's about all the natural selection we have left.
I have no simpathy for the idiots of this world.

Poor children.

I was always taught to treat any firearm as if it were loaded. The idea that this thing could be left lying around as if it were a toy is ludicrous, and I cannot imagine what it will be like for these parents to have to live with the consequences.

Who would be that "one less idiot" in this situation, Moons?
BTW sympathy is spelled with a "Y" not an "i".

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY not.
You figure it out.
I think god n guns have become redundant and boring topics, that say the same thing over and over.
Idiots,
think about it, how many do you know, I mean total idiots you wouldn't trust to watch your dog.
You surely would not want them watching your child while you work, but I've seen people do it, other idiots.
I do not want to take them under my wing and save them, I do not want them rehomed.
I would prefer they stay in one place so I could completely avoid them.
And let natural selection do the rest.
You figure it out.

I understand the concept of idiot and that's not what I asked you. I asked - who is the "one less idiot" you referred to?

by Two Moons on 03 May 2013 - 14:05
I wasn't explaining the concept of idiot, I asked if you knew any, I wasn't just asking you.
And I'm sure you had it figured out before you asked.
You want to make an issue out of the answer if you can.
Bee want's to play god n guns, and this could have been prevented.
I say it was waiting to happen, if not this then something else.
This is what idiots do.
I see them everyday, and so do you I suspect.
I consider it a genetic issue growing larger with each generation.
So we try to make life as fool proof as we can, to protect them and ourselves, which was always a mistake.
Then when things go wrong we blame everything and everyone else for our mistake.

Get a life, Moons, it sounded like you felt the dead kid was that "one less idiot".

by Two Moons on 03 May 2013 - 15:05
Blitzen,
what's the matter, things not go your way?
You know better.
SSDD.
