In Jewish culture,this coming of age is celebrated at the age of 12 or 13
with barmitzahs [FOR BOYS} and batmitzvahs {for girls}.
The term mitzvah literally means one who the commandments apply.
After their mitzvah children are held morally responsible for their own actions
and accoutable to follow the Jewish law.
This coming of age is hinted at in jesus life,His visit to the Temple in
Jerusalem at the age of 12. LUKE 2:41-50

I never could stick a hook through a worm. Casting, throwing, cleaning, gutting, cooking, no problem. Hook threading of night crawlers, nope, had to be someone else. Or I would use something else.
