China assaults home churches

WND.com reports: “China’s crackdown on its thriving house-church movement is surging just months after it was reported attacks on Christians had subsided, according to a report from the human rights group China Aid.

China Aid said its research shows a 42-percent increase in persecution against house churches in the communist nation over the past 12 months.

China Aid founder Bob Fu says the Communist Party in China ‘has long felt threatened by any movement that galvanizes a large sector of the population, fearing it could wield political clout.’

Now, he said, the government ‘has become more systematically hostile to worshipers.’

China Aid spokesman Mark Shan told WND the government is engaged in ‘a major effort now to wipe out the house churches by any means.’

‘The government will shut down the church,’ Shan said. ‘Or, they will force the house church members to join an official church.’

The officially sanctioned churches are controlled by the government, critics have explained…”

Fox News reports: “Libyan Islamists detained 48 Egyptian Christians in Benghazi last week, torturing them and using acid to burn off tattoos of the cross, according to family members.

The Christians, who are peddlers, were arrested by Islamist Salafists in Benghazi, who said they had Christian icons at their marketplace stalls, according to Mideast Christian News. The men were later reportedly freed and await deportation, but their family members back home told the Egyptian press they were abused while held, initially on charges of proselytizing.

‘When the residents of the village told me that he was imprisoned, I embraced his sons and told them they would not see their father again,’ Fardoos Salib, the mother of Coptic farmer Atif Kamel, told Egyptian newspaper al-Watan. ‘I prayed in the church, until God responded and he was released, as God knows our conditions.’

Activists in Libya last week posted photographs on Facebook showing the Egyptian Copts under detention. A video later seized by police showed the Egyptian Christians locked in a small room and guarded by bearded Salafists. Many appeared to be cut and bruised, and all had had their heads shaved…”

Oh those poor Christians. The killing of over a million Tibetan's by the Chinese government is a more alarming case of religious persecution.  But that doesn't concern you or your God does it?

2  million Christians were murdered the last 20 years.
They  were courages and strong,and stood up for their faith.

Would you like to share your source Gouda? You whine like a little bitch every time a Christian is persecuted, it is nothing new. Christians have been doing it to Muslims and vise versa for thousands of years, as have many others with differing religious views. You sir are the coward, the poor me act is a bunch of crap in order to show how bullshit prophecy is being fulfilled. You are weak and couldn't kick personal vices without the help of a sky daddy and you dare call me a coward. How about having the personal fortitude to face your own problems and deal with them.

  I would put my life on the line for something a little more important then fairytales. Mess with my family, friends or me and you will find out who the coward is. These are thing I believe in and would be willing to die for.
