talking about Hans.

Do you take your liberty for granted?

by Carlin on 23 April 2013 - 14:04
I would have to, to a point. I don't know anything else.

by Two Moons on 23 April 2013 - 14:04
You would have to?
Why don't you know anything else?

Everything is relative; relatively speaking, we are still fortunate to live in the greatest nation on the planet.

Greatest ?
You didn't answer the questions carlin.

I've been around long enough, seen enough, done enough, accomplished enough, and screwed up enough, to have learned that until you experience the loss of something, you can never truly appreciate what it meant to you. While we seem to lose some of our liberties by the day, we are still very fortunate in the freedoms we do have.

Your not gonna have them for long by taking them for granted, you should know this since your so brilliant.
Don't mean to seem combative but you've already crossed that bridge carlin.
Most people in fact do take them for granted and that's how they have been programmed.
They think we fight for freedom in someone else's country, but not our own.

Whether or not I can appreciate the U.S. to the extent that an immigrant can does not determine the extent of my effort to preserve our freedom. My understanding of people and history is enough for me to recognize the lay of the land, and what's at stake. Though I have no illusions, I have principals. Those dictate that I have an allegiance to a cause, whether the flag flies or not.

This in a country almost completely made up of immigrants.
And what was it we did to the natives who we took this land from?
So much for greatness.
As I see it, the Second Amendment is about all we have left.
Did you fight the proposed gun legislation, or run with the terrified crowd?
