A man should be able to work a fourty hour week and get by without his wife needing to work also.
A man who is willing to work all week should be able to exceed his needs and better his situation and (get ahead).
The currency we base all of this on should be stable and not controlled by the very people who profit from it's control.
We're digging the holes, but getting the shaft.
LOL,
you know what my thoughts are about such things.

Some people manage to get ahead and they started at the same exact spot, with a difference. They had confidence, real good idea, and they took advantage of a good education, to make it work. They didn't say I can't make it, so burn it all down.

You know what gets lost when there are more people than jobs?
Dignity, respect, a fair wage.
You know what gets lost when banks run our system?
Everything.

It is a rare thing for a man to work 40 hours at all, much less a week. People think they can show up and get a check. In my business you had better make me money if you want a job.

The thing that gets me is moving the work to other countries. Last job moved to Mexico.

The success of free market relies inherently on the "just" transaction, where a fair price is commanded, and a fair wage is paid. Any and all freedom relies on things like moderation, restraint, and temperance. Instead, we are the picture of envy, greed, and excess. The concept of "division of labor" is wonderful. In the post industrial world, it means the longer you work, the less you make. This creates class conflict, because the deck is always stacked. The argument is, that in America, we have equality of opportunity. Opportunity for what? Devour, or be devoured? Moons is right. There is no such thing as honest pay, for honest work in this climate. Increasingly, you are either the Bourgeois, or the proletariat. In the cosmic scheme, Marx was a moron. In the world of economics, he hit the nail on the head.

"The thing that gets me is moving the work to other countries." - GSD.
The traditional argument, is that in capitalism, other jobs will be created the increase in profit. In a bad economy, this is especially untrue. There is research available illustrating how our exponential technological advances are redefining the "laws of economics".

And yet you still go to Walmart. My business is 100% American. Doing what is right is not cheap.

It is not easy and not always possible in everything we do but in most things we can buy right her in the USA

Kudos Paul; I hope you stay committed. Now show me the cell phone made in the USA, for instance.
