The second amendment was written in a different time and they never dreamed of this shit. Read it. It was meant for an organized militia and I see no organized anything. The supremes over stepped their asses when interpetting it as such that court was probably made up of right leaning NRA shit faces. I need to do some research on the make up of that court.

Moons, you are so wrong because I don't need nor want any cops near me. I find them to not be truthful. I could tell you some shit that would make your head spin about the police. Some real f'd up shit. Lies and greed, my friend. I have known plenty of cops in my time and I don't know one that I would consider to be trustworthy or straight. Real honest shit here. I have plenty of family that are officers in large cities and the stories they tell are beyond what you hear. Plus my own direct knowledge of the men in blue, leaves a lot to be desired in the way they handle themselves.

To be honest,
I've known them good and bad and I agree with your opinion.

No matter, I would only trust myself with the lives of my family.
I would welcome any help but I would be failing as a man if I were to rely on another for something this important and personal.
I trust no man enough to put my life in his hands.

My kids are out of school now, but I still questioned the school about their security and they have made changes before all this took place actually.
A locked area before entering the building and new alarms for a lock down, all doors open from inside only, outside requires a key.

You see our school is next to a prison and escapes have happened in the past, this drove most of the changes before there was a Sandy Hook.


 

Well the only good cops I have ever known are my family and I don't hold my breath on their integrity either. I have literally seen cops lie on police reports to make their cases look better. It is a shame.

I know I don't want to rely on one for my life.
They have their place and are useful, but they are just people in the end, with all the same problems, short comings, and hang-ups as the rest of us.

 

Yeah they are good to give a police report when a deer runs out in front of me so I can turn it into my insurance but beyond that, pfft.
