Red Sable

Excellent Prager, so true.
Choked me up watching that.
I just can't see how anyone would think that making a law against guns will stop those that don't obey the laws anyway.

by beetree on 10 April 2013 - 19:04

Laws are needed to close the loopholes of gun ownership, and we need ammo purchase background checks to make our country a safer place for all. Very simply an idea that is a good thing, it empowers our law enforcement, and has become a necessary thing because of the world we live in today. It starts with a change in our cultural thinking about responsible gun ownership. I certainly am all for it and apparently 90 percent of Americans are ready for common sense to prevail too.

The politicians will get the message, sooner or later. This isn't going away, Obama made a promise to Newtown, CT, remember? And I said I am holding him to it. And the best news is, he's doing it without my reminder.

I can tell Prager and RedSable didn't bother with taking the time to watch or read Obama's speech either. LOL.  Seems like I'm the only one. Gotta love it!

Beetree  You do not know what I am listening to and to what I am not listening. However in any case, I do not need to listen to his teleprompter crap since  I know what his actions are and will be and mainly what his intentions are. As thay say you can put a lipstick on a pig but it is still just a pig.  You know how I know what they are ?  I have already lived it once before. This is the same  old song I have heard so many times before. It is a song with great melody, but the words  are really scary though.  I could write his speeches myself in sleep since they are ingrain in my mind from days living in communism. First time when I have heard Obama speak was when I was delivering dog to Chicago area when he was running in local elections.  I have had radio on and did not even listen to it much , just a background noise. And suddenly I got sick to my stomach and majorly depressed . I did not know why. I started to listen and it was like listening to the radio in Communist Czechoslovakia. Except it was more childish. Same phases, same ideas and same cryptic BS philosophy. I hear what he is saying, but you do not. You can't. You are like a color blind person who does not see green color. You are like a child who sees beautiful bee first time and are exited about it, but you do not know nor believe, that it will sting. You have to learn the hard way. But I do,... I see it and I know it. I already got stun once before.   You just hear the words, but  I hear what they really mean, the intentions behind them.... that is the  big difference.  This  is nothing new under the sun. You go ahead and drink the cool aide and pray that you are right. I am just amazed that people like you walk into the trap dragging other with them and do not see what is to  me an obvious trap. Why? Because I have seen such trap before.
FYI Government is not here to pass laws "to empower law enforcement".
Government exists to protect the rights of every individual including life, liberty and property.
Criminal laws should be limited to violation of the rights of others through force or fraud, or deliberate actions that place others involuntarily at significant risk of harm. I am against laws which are  creating “crimes” without victims. That is oppression and soft tyranny.

I really don't believe he used a teleprompter Prager, and even if he did it wouldn't have mattered. The content is what matters, to me. And Prager I am fully aware of your Libertarian views. I can't say I share them. I don't care if you "think" I drink Kool-Aide.  I listened to his speech because I wanted to hear if he was going to renege on his promise to Newtown, CT. He did not. You think you know what I am hearing, seeing, thinking believing. I assure you, you do not and can not make such a claim.

And Prager, I am referring to the words of law enforcement who spoke to the CT lawmakers, how, yes, indeed, background checks prevent criminals from obtaining  illegal weapons. This is not a made up thing, it is a fact. Those who are law abiding, why would they care? Why wouldn't they want to make sure criminals or the mentally unstable, too, don't buy ammo for an military style killing machine? Why oh why wouldn't you?

Asi f Obama is the first or only President to use a teleprompter.

by Blitzen on 10 April 2013 - 21:04

I woud love to hear what some of you would be saying if it were one of your kids who was killed in a mass murder spree. Easy to be cavalier when it doesn't effect one directly.

It's not that hard at all to imagine what it would be like Blitzen, even then I would not support what's been taking place since the day after this one event that's being used to manipulate the public.
Obama, that ass hole!
Now he want's to add 94 cents to my pack of cigarettes to pay for pre-school that just can't hang on due to budget cuts.
Let's tax the booze for a change, us smokers are already paying nearly a dollar a pack in taxes.
Traitor, lier !

by Blitzen on 10 April 2013 - 22:04

LOL now you think you pay too much tax on your cancer sticks? Only an asshole, traitor, liar like Obama could possibly think that pre-school programs are more important than a smoker paying more taxes  Thinking?

Two Moons

by Two Moons on 10 April 2013 - 23:04

The budget cut bullshit is just that, seriously, let's tax the booze so many people can't do without.

He's still a traitor and a lier.

You think you know where cancer comes from huh.

This is one of the most idiotic things I've read in a while. How the heck are background checks going to stop criminals from selling illegal guns to other criminals? Are these criminals all of a sudden going to start obeying the law and register their firearms?
