Could be a younger girl and not filled out yet. My dogs are not too far off that weight their first year.

The black/red with the dark muzzle is West German.

The Sable looks too thin.

A German neighbor would always say about every German Shepherd that I owned that my dog was too thin, when they were 8-9 months old, and then she would go on to say that the dog looks like a pencil with a head.
I don’t like an overweight dog, but this girl needs about 5-10 lbs. on her. I bet she is about 55 lbs if that.
It’s not my dog tho.

So is this a Malinois/ German Shepherd cross? I was under the assumption this was a Sable German Shepherd.

No, it is not a GSD x Mali, it is a GSD.
Give it a year or so and it will fill out nicely.

The bitch is 2 and a half if you read the op of the dog. 2 and half is time enough for filling out skin and bone. And yes it is a gsd not a mixture. All this dog needs is food.

Was going by what ValK said* about the pic s/he was trying to post, without being able to see it. Maybe the dog in the picture is pure GSD - if she is, I doubly wouldn't want to take her home.  She is not a good specimen IMO.  It may be that she is young (although I would not say very young, looking at the head - that 2.5 years would probably be correct) but she does as Nans so eloquently puts it "need groceries".  Like Dawn, I have often been told by people (who are NOT specialists in dogs, let alone GSDs !) that my dogs (of all ages) are "too thin" - but they have never been allowed to look like the one in this photo; and as long as my Vet is happy with them, and other, knowledgeable, GSD people are happy, so am I.

* "malinois-ish"

I think the WGSL on the left of the first picture looks as if she may be younger, and somewhat slender; but I suspect she looks worse when photographed with the heavier Working bitch. (Who I sincerely hope is surely NOT the same sable as the one in the second, semi-emaciated photo, even a couple of years later !).

Yes that female should be filled out a bit more by 2+ years. However, she could be in excellent health as depicted - and a tireless, light on her feet runner/jumper. Most American dogs are chronically overfed and under exercised. Considering the structure and more rugged lifestyle of the foundation stock far back in our GS pedigrees, this dog would not be atypical in conformation nor relative weight...and not so malinois-ish.
