I would say suitable dog + good trainer = easy IPO1

by joanro on 17 May 2017 - 21:05

BW: Suitable? Pretty fast. EASY IPO1...that's a different story. Too many people think it's easy and then fail. A trial is a trial...

I'll repeat myself just for you, BW, since you seem to paint me as being clueless and devoid of experience with training for IPO (still sch to me)...
Page 2 of this thred; top pic my dog I raised and trained, at ten months old.

Next pics, same dog at two years old, two weeks after I put sch1 on him 175 miles from home.

The weekend after I put the sch1 on him, I put sch1 on my female 250 miles from home.

Three weeks later, 150 miles from home, I put sch2 on her and sch 1 on my GSL male the same day same trial...

I raised all 3 dogs from puppies, trained concurrently, and trained all three dogs here in my own field. Proofed them at a club I belonged to but I never trialed any dog at that club.

BTW, all three of my dogs scored very well and were qualified to go to next level.
Matter of fact, my female made high score in trial in protection when we made sch2....a big trial with tons of sch 3 dogs.

So assessing my young dog I posted the video of first time I back tied him so that I could introduce him to the soft sleeve is a cake walk...he is many times more biddable and easier to train than any of those three...the male and female are his great great grand parents.

Joan…why is everything about you and your dogs? You’ve made my point. The dog in that video you posted is not an “EASY IPO1” if it were…you’d do one. If it’s so simple…why not just do it rather than making up excuse after excuse and telling story after story. Give the hard facts, don’t worry about the other things. Score, venue, judge…nothing else matters, that’s the beauty of IPO and having it standardized, you don’t have to convince people through rhetoric and stories that your dog is worth something.

What excuses? The dog's a year old.

It was 'Easy' to put 4 sch titles (sch 1-2) on three dogs in three weeks after one year of traing all three. All at venues brand new to us.

You must be confusing me with everybody else on this board who make excuses why they haven't titled their dog.

I'm just starting this dog.
Baren asked me about the video i posted, i answered.
Then from my answer to her, You ASKED me about my dog. I answered your question, which you used as a set up to claim I'm 'telling people how great my dog is'... Then after I answered, you didn't stay on topic, you attacked me personally instead with your snotty remarks.

'About me and my dogs...'? What shall I do, gosip and talk bs about others' and their dogs? Or just bash those who post about their dogs like you do. Am i supposed to share experiences and videos of others' dogs, instead of my own experiences? Like the video Baren posted and the brag she made of her own dog, and others who talk about their own, but for me according to the mighty BW, I'm supposed to only talk about others' dogs....riiiight. You're on a power trip and you

just ran out of power.

What do you give a crap if my pup is an easy ipo or not? Is that going to take the sparkle out of your star or sumpthin...my dog, my assessment...you don't approve? Go cry a river.

Stop preaching at me about putting titles on. I've done it. I'll do it again. Stop stereotyping me with your crappy opinion of dog people in general. You don't like my participation on this board, then stop stalking me.

How dogs have you titled?

by joanro on 17 May 2017 - 22:05

Last question above post supposed to be, @ BW..

How many dogs have you titled?

by Bavarian Wagon on 18 May 2017 - 00:05

I'll answer you when you quote me directly exactly where I attacked you personally. Considering all I can see is you crying and calling me names.

The point of my post was to show people that if all it takes is a video of a dog biting in a closet or better yet a dog tied back giving a few barks and then taking a sleeve to prove that it’s “IPO1 capable” then it’s no surprise why these types of dogs are bred and the breeders run their mouths about how they know their dogs can do it if they put in the time and yet they don’t and the state of the breed as a whole in this country continues to be what it is and constantly relies on blood from Europe in order to keep working ability at a decent level. As long as this country continues to excuse the lack of any standardized testing, we’ll always be dependent on imports from Europe in order to keep our dogs at a half way decent level. I won’t even call it competitive because an American bred dog without any European blood 1-2 generations back hasn’t been competitive at the higher level in years, if not decades.

But it was good to learn what kind of video and information is needed in order for a breeder to claim their dog is an easy IPO1…if that’s the kind of work we look for and accept from breeders, it’s no wonder why the breed is where it is.
