First of all, Helmut Raiser said that modern trainingways take away first line of selection period

Second, Pierre wahlstrom said that about two weeks ago on similair discussion on facebook and Im sure he will select a dog with ideal sport traits for his sport breeding

Finally, I dont need to tell people how it is to make a living, I need to breed and buy suitable dogs to make a living and the amount of suitable dogs out of sportbreeding is dropping at huge speed, therefore I dont say its bad to title, but you need to look past title to see if a dog is suitable, even for breeding of next generation sportdogs

Every animal you buy you look past the training. Of course if you are selling a dog you try make it look better than it is, everybody does that.

 

I worked for a horse trader, we did all sorts of tricks when the buyer comes out, you fool most people with training but not all......that's business.

 

Hell a lot of horses are drugged on sale day to hide lameness and make them look calmer than they are....just business.

 

From the knpv video I see they are old school because they are mainly old men. In fact I recognise every guy in every knpv trial from videos, the whole 5 of them.

Soon you will only see grey haired old men in wheel chairs doing knpv.

OTOH ipo trials you you see lots of strong young fit men from many countries, you see lots of beautiful young women from many countries.

IPO decoys and handlers are the rock stars of the dog world who charge lot of money travelling the globe teaching hundreds of enthusiastic people and hundreds of dogs.

Where are the very best handlers, decoys and trainers in the world? They are doing IPO.

Dutch guys, nobody ever heard of them, not mean but fact.

VK I dont try to make dogs look better than they are, sorry, my replacement rate is less than 1 per 100 dogs I sell, sorry

Holland has many good trainers and had real good decoys as well but I agree that several countries who quickly adapt the new trainingways passed the dutch on that, but in LE dogs holland is still a leading country and many Dutch LE breeders, trainers and handlers are giving seminairs all over the world, only you dont hear about that

The best IPO trainers and decoys right now would be here in Czech republic IMO

I am sure dutch handlers and trainers give seminars around the world but nowhere near the scale of IPO seminar industry.

Yeah Czech decoys are hot at the moment but why is that you must ask. I think you will find the current generation have stopped trying to live off the border patrol legacy because they would have become extinct.

They have  joined the world stage thru ipo, the world sport, and have selected more sporty dogs and positive training methods and widened their market base.

 

It is a smart move, good that they have open minds and not stuck in the past selling the border patrol fantasy.

True KNPV is only famous worldwide in the Netherlands but KNPV trials and titling is only alowed in Holland a very very small country.

IPO is world famous in around 200 countries worldwide and you can train it everywhere
and many many members worldwide


Same as KNPV decoys you wouldn,t find the same top level KNPV decoys in other countries. But there are some KNPV decoys who are making their living from giving seminars
to police departments in the US and worldwide because most of that people don,t have the knowledge when they import all that KNPV dogs.
