Trust, respect, and confidence between the dog and human is earned by both and requires constant care and feeding. A stranger has not earned the dog's trust, respect, or confidence so why would the dog give it ?? One of my dogs will take 30 days to trust a stranger and only three minutes of brutality or stupidity can destroy any possibility of that confidence ever happening. On occasion light punishment may be justified but pain and punishment never build trust, respect, or confidence.

Bubba, there is a difference between a dog taking time (if ever) to build trust with strangers, and a spoilt, out of control dog (bitch, in this case) taking an actual pop at every stranger who looks sideways at her. I bet I know which your dogs do/did, not so much sure about Mith's ! Your previous post ^^^ BTW was SPOT ON. If people took that advice on board in the first place they would not get into the situation where they had to break chains trying to correct / hold back their dog in the first place - genetic traits or no genetic traits.

I am minded to compare the attitude of British Shepherds over the centuries to their working Collies, and their control of those Collies' innate propensity to try to bite the sheep.

And Susie
Here is the elegance of the hypothesis that the a genetic trait is the independent variable in dog aggression:

appropriate genetics + obedience = controlled aggression( with some redirected in certain dogs )
appropriate genetics+ no obedience = overt aggression

inappropriate genetics + obedience= no aggression

inappropriate + no obedience = no aggression.

This explains why thousands of randomly owned dogs with no ob shows no aggression.

And Mithuna,
did you READ my posts? Is my English that bad? I don´t get it.

Where is your female in this chart?

And what is "inappropriate" ?

Too much aggression or not enough aggression?
Strong or nervy?
Confident or insecure?
...

You missed to socialize your dog, you missed to teach her manners, and you missed to train her according to her genetics.

A lot of people tried to help you, but you always knew better.

Did you ask your wife and your daughter how they feel about another dog?
Are you really that stubborn?

untested hypothesis prove nothing.
