Hans~ 'Also Joan and bee tree how many tiles of PSA have you put on your dogs? '

I already said i have not been to psa clubs.

In the same vein, many schutzhund titles have you put on dogs, trained by you, in your nearly half century involvment training dogs? Or even AKC OB titles trained by you?
Unless you titled in czech , how many zvv titles, trained by you ? You did say you've been training dogs over forty years, right?

Bee I hope she does as well I posed questions that didnt get answered. A pot without a stirring is a thread without views or participation.... See Smiles thread recently posted. bhahahaa. Stir by ladle or 2x4 its all good by me Im not stating that. I like me some tapatio. The constant challenge of should you be allowed to speak rather then thoughts on what was written in most cases are counter productive but free world rock it any way you want, just voicing a pet peeve..

Let's get back on track and stop this who has done the most type of crap.

Again if you don't like a person or what they have to say

DON'T READ OR POST TO THE TOPIC

Let others enjoy

Gigante, sportism is a very good topic for getting the dialogue going. I know that going to club every week, debates about sport are never ending. I think a person would have to be devoid of an inquiring mind to not have questions or to not offer answers. I'm sure she will get back to you soon as she gets a round tuit.
Knowing each person's experience does tend to lend credibility to what they have to say. Gsdfan has lots of experience on this topic.

This is what makes the dog world so hard to stay with very hard to get encouragement and their are plenty of begrudgers .sad that a lot of people on this site are long time dog people some in there 50 and are still willing to step all over people .What a shame

I agree Joan I didn't think for a second to ask her for scorecards. Like so many here just time spent in the game with success and losses gets my ear. It resonates or not, applies or not. Each dog, each discipline is different the more tools in bag the better.

I think I get it now. This PSA Nationals 2nd place showing, while it is commendable and open for participation, was nothing like having to get qualified for competing in something comparable to a USA national team going to the WUSV World Championships, something which I have attended as a spectator.

Thanks for your patience while I pondered on these differing sport goals that were not at first apparent to me.

And when that aha moment arrives, bee, it makes the road to how it was achieved even more relevant.

Gigante, good post, I agree.

BeeTree

Hans is right there is no shame in failing in PSA (unlike other sports)...unless your dog gets run or looks really sloppy. This is especially true for the upper levels 2's and 3's (Due to the difficulty and number of unknown scenarios). It is common place to fail at these levels numerous times before achieving a title.

The PSA 2 and 3 levels have a tournament style awards system, wherein you do not have to pass in order to be awarded a placement. So it is not necessarily a brag to say you placed at the nationals in the 2's or 3's without looking at the scores and number of entrants. Since most competitors compete in the PSA1's that is pretty much a blanket brag to say you placed since there is much more competition.

So few dogs compete in the PSA2 and 3's as compared to the Schutzund sport that the number of people entered in the 2004 Nationals was actually a respectable field of entrants especially considering the sport was in it's early days. Without video it's hard to say if they belonged competing at that level or they just threw their dogs in to see what happens.

Hope that answers your question.

Yes, Joan, aha.

Edited: I see where he puts the title on Varo in the lower classes back in 2002, yet the training still can not be claimed to be by Hans as OT, even though he is being the registered owner at time of trial. The other claimed titles in PSA would then be on other dogs and probably not pursued past PSA1, same as Varo. So, even as the handler who passed PSA1, it doesn't mean the training was done by the trial handler.

Full dog names would make it clearer to do proper searches that would take the guess work out of the factual selectiveness that comes from the decade or so that has passed since giving up the PSA sport, or all dog sports for that matter, in favor of the fast track that needs no documents but simply is hallowed and claimed to be the epitome: The PP Dog.
