Fry : TY for the commiseration over the Ford Focus !
Though I believe Jezza & Top Gear found it a recommendable
car ;-p

Frankly I'm with you, I buy my cars based on "will the dog fit
comfortably in it, can I set my crate in there"; oh, and "is it
white or some other highly sun-reflective colour " rather than
"do I luv that dark green that will incidentally turn it into an
oven as soon as we get good weather" type questions, and
sadly too many people don't ...

That TransK9 model Cutaway posts looks pretty solid; maybe
the OP would be better off going with something "pre-loved"
like that.

I suppose one reason UK firms might not want to ship more
hefty crates would be the weight of those !

But I stick by: you can get away with most spindly wire dog
crates if you drive well ! The odds against a major crate-crushing
accident remain lots different to the number of times you have to
slam on the brakes to avoid the fool suddenly stopping in front.
Better a flimsier crate that none at all.

With the number of complete dumbasses staring at their phones now a days and not the roads, i hit the breaks and scream profanities daily.
I'm not against Ford, (Found On Road Dead, Fix Or Repair Daily....) but i went with a Chevy as a used dog mobile. Worth the 4 grand for the SUV and my crates fit it perfectly. I like the look of the one Cutaway posted, but have them been crash tested also? I wish i could find the link i had. Showed a lot of different models being tested.
Regardless good luck in her search for her dog's safety!

TNC Fabricating on FB makes great custom crates that don't break the bank. I've been thinking about getting one from them. You should check them out.
