No second intention in here (honest question), what is the point on teasing a puppy like that? he becoming used to be very "handle" when he is a grown dog? thanks for clearing my doubt ;)

Ana, it´s about temperament at that age, the will to play, the will to fight, the will to withstand adequate pressure, last but not least it´s simply about fun.

( Good ) puppies tend to play rough, ever took a look in a puppy play pen? And these puppies are not going to become dog killers only because we don´t stop this behavior...

A lot of people tend to suppress normal drives, and later on they wonder why their IPO prospect doesn´t show "enough temperament".

The vid started with a toy/tug, and I am pretty sure Duke knows how to redirect the focus on the goal he has in mind - but as soon as you successfully suppressed normal behavior, there is nothing left to focus on later on.

I agree and think he will be handler agressive if you allow him to be in growing up, that goes for almost any dog with handler agression as it is mostly handler mistake

I want to see and encourage this behaviour as I dont want dogs to be prey motivated only, that would be nice for sport, but not for patroldogs, therefore it is ok if he bites my hand and is not only toy focussed

I do the same with pups for ball/toy motivation, I push them back to see how bad they want to get the toy

Ha ha early signs the second officer that tries to cuff the suspect is going to be getting some stitches..... handler aggression to early to tell.
