Oh those damn drug companies, well until you need a drug that will save your life.

by joanro on 04 August 2015 - 17:08

OK, I see where you are coming from. Guns cause mass murders, but drug companies are not culpable. Well damn those guns, till one saves your life.

Till one saves my life, lol, pretty darn funny. So, according to you drug companies are culpable but gun manufacturers aren't. Then neither should cig companies or for that matter anyone who makes anything and is a company. If I poison someone with my craft beer - oh well, maybe it was some other companies fault. Maybe the person I got the bottles from.

I don't worry about guns in real life because they do not at this moment affect me. But they may just like so many things out there. We legislate a lot of dangerous things so...

Laws forcing people to use seat belts and helmets are for the insurance companies. People still get killed, they do not ensure safety a hunerd prsnt. The laws also generate revenue for towns in tickets. Its a good idea to use them, but the laws have not saved the people killed even tho they had them on.
What are your thoughts on drones in hands of criminals or psychos. You OK with no laws prohibiting the ownership or use by people who want to commit mass murder? How would you legislate that issue?
Have you done any research on big pharma in this country, compared to the rest of the civilized world? Like cancer treatment drugs. Check it out when you have time. They run this country, along with the insurance companies.

Admin, when the cops shoot and kill a person who is committing a mass killing, don't you realize that cop's gun saved your life? After all, who's to say the shooter, if not stopped by the cop's gun, would not end up at your place and continue his rampage. Yes, guns can save your life. When the volunteers are in Iraq and afganistan shooting whoever the enimy is, aren't they saving your life. At least we have been told that the military over there is protecting us...therefore, the guns the us military is using are protecting/saving you.
I still would like to know how legislation is going to protect you from drones with WMD.

As for the drug companies and drs prescribing psyc drugs, look at the disclaimer/side effects they admit to. How many more children have to commit suicide before the drug companies are held accountable. How many more veterans will commit suicide before the drs and drug companies are held accountable...the drug makers are fully aware of what those drugs are doing to people.

We all gonna die, sooner or later. In the same sense that officers gun may kill me accidentally in a walmarts bathroom.

by joanro on 04 August 2015 - 18:08

That's it? What about legislating safety, so's we don't die?
You object, and rightly so, to kids being killed by guns, but you have no problem with big pharma making a living off drugs that they are fully aware cause children to commit suicide?

You could always move over here Mick; can't guarantee we will always
stay gun-(semi)free as a society, but we manage pretty well without the
right to buy what weapons we like, and have done for a very long time.

Can't say we don't have all the other problems the same as raised in this
thred, though.

by joanro on 04 August 2015 - 19:08

Guns are the least of the problems in the world. Without getting to root cause of shootings, murders will continue guns or no guns, regardless of any legislation.
