Very strong maternal bloodlines and he looks the part .. a bi-color to boot ..  time will tell .. I've had some male pups with those big heads that were just going through a phase.

VD Terry Blatenskeho Zamku female was a great dog and she goes back into some of my Czech bloodlines  also V Daika von der Felsenmühle female was a very strong female

V Inga vom Haus van Hipp female  V Wita vom Hagenberg female and a whole bunch of great females on both sides .. what's not to like??  Your boy is standing on the shoulders of some great females.

He looks like a Brutus or an Atlas .. what is his name??

Charles, he has no name <hanging my head in shame>. Even more shameful is the fact that to provoke me into naming him quickly, my son (5yrs old) has started calling him Brussels Sprout.  Red Smile  He is an "H" puppy. Hexe had a super idea of "Himself" but I can't think of a call name for that one, though it fits him well.

The maternal strength is no accident. I bought his dam on her maternal line, in the hopes it would cross well on Capri sons, and hoping Capri sons produce like Capri daughters...eventually I'd like to linebreed on Capri and not end up completely backmassing on the same old, same old. Only time will tell now! I should thank Bebo for his valuable input on Beauty/Megy's damline when I posted an inquiry looking for personal experience. So happy I "went for it."

The head is pretty typical and I don't think it's going anywhere. It's interestingly not his mother's, it's Capri's (maternal grand dam...bicolor). Or, I should say it's the head she threw again and again. He has her "sharp" look but his mother's dark eyes And my superficial and very nostalgic self was quite happy to see he was bicolor. I never got a bicolor out of Capri for myself. A few slipped through my hands due to timing issues. The only thing that would make him better is if he was a female. I don't know if you can see the resemblance or not from these adult pics. May be one of those things that you only see if you know them personally.

No, no name. Soon...soon. "Hey you" is working fine for now.

Jenni, I submit that this is a dog who needs a formal name that has no real relationship to his call name, because the only people who will have the privilege of calling him by the latter would be his family and friends anyway...to those not known to him, he should be Himself.  That would allow your son to choose the call name from the ones he liked before he defaulted to Brussels Sprout, while still bestowing an appropriately dignified registered name on a pup who already exudes dignity and gravitas.

I submit: Hell-no. Because it looks like he may give you that answer if you ask him to do something he doesn't want to. :)
