when a dog gets hurt on a slippery floor it is do to accidental movement or tripping not gearing. what this does is actually works the quarters creating the pup to strenghten there muscles. added to this these pups are introduced to a self propeeled style mill to help generate hard muscle.. Funny thing about dysplasia.. there are malformities that do happen and i have studied with other canine orhtopedics, nutritionist etc that dysaplasia in a mild to semi mild state with proper feeding and exercise to tighten muscles and ligements can sometimes be overturned.. this does not mean that if the dog has malformned hips, sockets gross ligments that this will reform them. the most problem with dysplasia are more enviormental then gentics. I.e. overfeeding puppys lack of exercise continuos feeding of gross supplemetation to get the teddy bear look like (peak Products) lack of muscle whether it be in dog or human can create substantial sloppyness excessive movement in joints and will weeken tendens. COnditioning Conditioning Conditioning. It's like if you sprain your ankle your always more apt. to do so continuosly.

nikkigsd, So what age do you take them out into the store's and etc? I was always told to wait two weeks after they get their first set of shots then take them out and about. If it's O.K to do this earlier(before their shots)and for them not to catch anything, then we can socialize earlier than what we thought. I will never say I know it all, because IMO I will always learn basically until I die, and if I can learn new/more information the better I can help others and our breeding of the GSD.

well i bring them in a stroller type of kennel or open top vari kennel so they dont walk on the ground and catch anythinh but they are still out in the open seeing smelling hearing watching people basically becoming desensitized to all. i still wouldnt walk them were they catch comunicable diseases I.e no visits to the pet stores. and they dont hit the ground at the vets office either. but pushing them around in the shopping cart and having people approaching them and having them here things dropping and just driving in the car give the purchasers a much more rounded and further advanced start with out all the phone calls. like he threw up in the car on the way home (this usually doesn't happen if there used to it, also the wood and tile floor quirkiness isnt there, they already can go up and down stairs. i have just had less and less owner problems by socializing the hell out of them with just the everyday stuff C.S>

nikkigsd, Thank you for not taking offense for my questions. I just like to learn as much as I can on anything/everything on the GSD. I like to hear what and how people do what they do to raise their pups. Maybe that can help me on our next litter. Learn, learn, learn, that's my motto!! Thank You Kel

No Prob. Kel Ifeel The Same Way. Once You Think You Know Everything about anything we should just pack it in! Remember what works for some pups dont always work for others and some dont adapt as quickly but i have found the early you desebsitize the dogs the less issues you have with either training or putting them into a clients home
