Something that I think the admins may not be understanding is that this change makes his location look as if it's a working title.  At that point it passes from simple mistake to fraud.  It now appears that Rush (and others) are working police k9's when they are not.  It's no different than putting an AKC CH abbreviation in front of dog who isn't.

Now I AM confused.  If you don't know WHY it was done  (and I just posited the 'helpful' theory,

I am not arguing it was right !  And no, not only was it not me who did it but I have no knowledge

of or friendship with whoever did, so bang goes the conspiracy theory, at least as far as it could

include / apply to me),  and your 'explanation' above around other changes that were made is

hardly clarification, then why would any of us - except the member who did it - know why they did it ?

Sorry Kim but I could not begin to guess, no matter how long I "think about it".

I can see perfectly clearly why it would be a bad idea to remove e.g. Hip ratings, or competition titles;  or to

fill them in when they are missing, even.  At least on contemporary dogs.  But I do not understand why you

are getting so hot under the collar about someone informing the PDB your dog was at the Slovak Police Academy,

if he was actually there;   I assume that whoever it was knew that the loan had occurred (if not all the details) - and

if that person knew, probably others already did too.  Yes if it wasn't a permanent change of owner they ought to

have found that out and perhaps not changed it, or at least clarified it was temporary.   But it is hardly likely to harm

this dog's reputation that he was loaned (I guess for stud ?) in this way, or is it ?

I've had all my dogs deleted, ratings changed, birth dates changed, slanderous comments added, you name it. People are bored, people can be crazy, and some are both bored and crazy. It's not right, but it's the way it is.

And more often, people are trying to help or add info because our dogs are not islands. They are relatives and often, I have reason to add a dog I don't own, say because I have a pup out of them and without the parent, I can't add my pup's info. I guess I don't think the whole world is out to get me and while it can be annoying when people change things w/out permission, it's not the end of the world and I have bigger fish to fry.

This is nothing more than the nature of the internet. There are only two choices, unfortunately; deal with it or stay off the internet.

Thank you BZ - You hit the Nail on the Head!!!

Hundmutter, go back are carefully read everything I said.....then think about it.

Then read what Bz said.....and think about it!

Or, stick to threads that you understand better, like the color of a dogs eyes.

This is not a frivolous topic, it is serious and may have serious consequences yet to emerge that I am sure will not concern you.

As some are insinuating that this no big deal..........its just the way it is. What then is the point of pedigree data base if we don't at least try keep it truthful. All Kim is saying that this should never have happened.............don't know how anyone could disagree!!

True, bz. And the dolt who change multiple dogs' pedigrees I own from ofa certified to "unknown" was to discredit me...they can't stand any form of competition in the quality department. It was many months afterwards before I saw the dishonest changes, as I'm not in the habit of keeping an eye on my dogs' pedigrees entered on this db. But I am checking periodically now. If the dolts doing the changing become aware that there is a record of their sneaky misbehavior, they may not be so cavalier about doing it. Most people who do back handed things like this don't want to be found out, so spread the word they are leaving a trail is the best defense at this time. And activate the 'changes notification' via email to catch the unwanted changes before damage is done.

My first post - nope

my 2nd - nope

my 3rd - nope

I never said don't worry about. I said change it back and contact who changed, please do not put words in my mouth.

I also get a little tired of ( only when a person disagrees with me) they must have friends line, for the last time, I do not know anyone here and it is one of the reasons I am where I am because I don't know a person here.

You guys are preaching to the choir I tried to talk Oli and Lineage into locking down the pedigrees and met very stiff resistance.

You guys have never bought a dog and the parents aren't in the database? If that happens do you add the parents without owning them? If we lock down pedigrees then who can enter dogs or do you want the admins to verify every owner?

So, if you want the pedigrees locked you need to convince Oli and Lineage. BTW, before Lineage became an admin she edited and entered 100s of pedigrees, I dare anyone to say this was wrong. Finally there are over a million and a half pedigrees here if we had a rule from day one a about only owners can add or edit this place surely would have a lot less dogs entered.

Not sure why someone would waste their time changing onfo on dogs that aren't theirs, unless they have an ax to grind or will benifit from it in some form.
I for one don't have time to waste going around changing ped. info willy-nilly.

So yes it would piss me off to have someone changing the info(incorrectly) on MY dogs!

A quick search & it's obvious they changed the info on over 5 dogs on the same day. None of whom it seems they actually own. Hmmmm interesting isn't it......

1- I never asked for pedigree's to be locked, I brought something to everyones attention.

2-Nice attempt at deflection though, someone alters our dog and others pedigree and I'm the offending party it seems, LOL

3- I guess I will have to check workingdog.eu as well when I have a moment, I suspect some of the same pedigree's may have been changed there as well.

4- Obviously this Database could care less about honesty

5- Can't wait to hear the expalantion from the long term member who made the unauthorized changes

And finally,  thanks for the advice Jen, your wisdom is truly superfluous!
