The way his butt fits in the saddle and how well he can sit a trot, how soft his hands are on the horse's mouth. That all says a lot about a man. Lol

joan sounds like I'm yr dream guy cept i mostly ride in a 3 point position. we would get a whipping if we sat our asses down on the horses back like you yanks do.


i think its cos you do less hard riding over broken ground at speed or sumthin??


I have learned to ride yank style, gonna get a yankee saddle its actually way more comfortable just less versatile. oh not flirting BTW .

vk, if you  sit the trot properly, the horse is not hammered...same way sitting a trot bareback. If you can do that without bouncing and hurting the horse, your my kinda guy. 

I have a great Dale Martin calf roper I'll sell you...it's like brand new and built when Martin was hand making his saddles, before he sold the company. You need a small butt tho, it's only a 15 1/2 in seat. Wood raw hide covered tree...none of that fiberglass crap. One of a kind silver buffalo skull conchos.

Next time i get away will sit in some mass produced in india roping saddles and get an idea of my size.

i like cutting saddles a lot. never sat in a roping saddle.

any pics or a link to an on line pic in a store or something . sounds interesting .

Those saddles made in India will hurt your horse's back a lot more than sitting a trot will.

I'll take some pictures today post them for you. This saddle isn't anywhere on line...hand made so it's unique. Calf roping saddle is more comfy than cutter. I put oxbows on this one, took the roping stirrups off...too bulky. This one has real sheepskin padding instead of the fake used in most. Oakleaf and basket weave plus ruff out seat and leathers ( fenders). This saddle fit all three of my horses like it was made for them, all three different built. 3/4 stainless steel rigging...none of that inskirt junk.

I haven't found one yet that doesn't kill spiders and snakes.

I first noticed his posture . . indicative of self confidence and self respect.

Then after a few dates I realized he's the only person I liked being around ALL THE TIME.  24 years later, I still do.
