Richard and Matt,

I, personally, have nothing against Carl Smith. Both of you may want to go back and read the first page of this thread and remember what it is all about. It appears that Mr. Smith was incapable of following the rules of his own organization concerning his status as, not only a participant as a representative of the WDA for the world team qualifier, but, also as V.P. of the WDA. He also, as head of the helper committee, chose the helpers for the event (WDA Nationals) that he was particpating in. Conflict of interest???? So, by God when Carl says the sky is blue, maybe that day it was red! Further, Matt, you trust him so implicitly, you had to also call Dan Yee??? Wasn't Carl's word enough???

SitasMom,

The only reason you choose to say nothing, is because there is something to be said. You hide behind your private conversation, yet demand that I give you information??? You tell everyone that is not a WDA member (which is almost everyone now) that this is none of our business, yet when there were issues with UScA you were more than happy to run your mouth as much and as often as you felt. Where does your hypocrisy end???

Matt,

Concerning my comment about "moving on". It was directed at the helper who felt slighted because there is nothing that can (or will) be done at this point. As for the existence of the WDA, I don't give a rats ass whether they survive now or not, and never did. It has no effect on me. Four years ago I predicted the falling out of the GSDCA and the WDA after the WUSV, and reiterated it again early last year. It wasn't that tough to figure out when you considered the parties involved. To the people who have decided to remain with the WDA, they get what they deserve. If they truly want to save their organization then they may want to consider getting rid of the person that, not only drove them off a cliff, but, sped up as they were going over.

Chris,

As always you would need to look at the judges credentials and see if they fit your plans. For most in the US, the answer is yes. Some of the current WDA trial judges are SVR. The SVR judges are recognized. Others are not. Those results would not be recognized.

Next question would be; does it matter? A few years ago there were,,,,, I'll say many people working with Germany to the extent that some had a concern about what was acceptable to Germany. The list of those people now is small and those people not only know what events they have to go to, but they have the resources to get there.

For the other 99%, does it matter?

Take a look at what's happening here. The GSDCA is going into uncharted territory. They have qualified people but will they pull it off? Can they package it and sell it? Will what they form be separate enough from the typical GSDCA dog that those in charge and those running it can actually pull off a SV style club or will it be bogged down by the same politics that got the ASL show events where they are today? If you don't know where the ASL shows are, just ask, I'll try to elaborate.

If the WDA continues what will they offer? Their direction over the past few years has been to tighten the circle. Why not be self sufficient? It makes perfect sense. Just do everything in house. They don't need to be bogged down with events that didn't make money anyway. Just get your group, train your dogs and let your own judges judge them. What's wrong with that?

For those that still embrace the SV way, the clear choice is USCA even with the JA. USCA has it together. They have a good functional organization where the opportunity is still open.

OGBS,

By God where there's nothing your determined to build something!  Too bad it won't stand in the light of day!

YOU went off topic about your little fantasy secret meeting in CO.  I confirmed with Carl and Dan that there wasn't one.  Why did I ask Dan? because I could.  Two answers are better than one.  Questioning my trust in Carl is completely foolhardy on your part but that doesn't seem to slow you down in the least.

FYI, Carl did not select the helpers for the National.  The Helper committee did of which he is the Chair.  I also put my name in for consideration and wasn't chosen.  Don't see me running around crying about it.

Smart guy, that comment is in no way shape or form aimed at you.  I do think you have a valid point in your post and I mentioned it to Dan Yee and asked him to respond to it. (which is why, when I had him on the phone I asked about CO)  I'm curious if he will and what he'll say about it.

OGBS, as far as Smart Guy's comment, you have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.  Again that doesn't stop you from making it up and projecting what you will.  But hey, it's a free country and everyone can do what they want.

Just as I am free to point out your lack of anything factual in all of your "secret whisperings"

Little clarification on Dog1's post.

All titles (IPO, AD, BH, WH, etc...) granted at a WUSV member organizations trial (USCA, WDA, DVG) are recognized by all of the other members of the WUSV.

What this means is that a title given by WDA judge Doug Alexander for example is recognized by USCA.  Even though he is not SVF, even though USCA took away his USCA judges license and banned him from being a member, they still recognize his titles.

The SVF designation allows these judges to judge outside of their country and have their titles recognized.  I.E.  Nathianiel Rouque from USCA is judging this year's Worlds IPO Protection phase (which is a HUGE honor and a kudo for him and USCA).  His SVF designation is what allows his scoring to be recognized, since he is judging outside of the USA.

OGBS: unlike me and the hundreds of others who clutter these pages with the he said and she said BS, I want reality to actually  kick in with someone who actually is believable to respond with anything the rest of us might possibly believe.  Is either  the WDA or the GSDCA believable or  credible in the dogsport world?  Does the WDA have even the most remote and unbelievable claim to any WUSV credentials? Can the GSDCA have any hope of displacing Daniel Yee and his ilk or will the personal servitudes of any non-overt but publically, disfunctional personal and and possibley undisclosed scurilous business relationships dictate what is happening between the breed interests in this country and the WUSV .

The Judge--Bunch--I was told after the fact that he was receiving tremendous pressure not to do anything with the "import". I was foolish to show and had I known this I would not have.

Morton Goldfarb wrote this about his show in Georgia where he placed second.  He posted it here on the PDB. Go read the whole story for yourself.  The Judge did make a "statement" and things have not and will not change with GSDCA.  I've seen this for over 20 years.  You won't move the money.
