*In response to the helper selection comment*

I am a Nationally certified helper for this organization and I was told directly by Mr. Smith in an email that he needed video of me working dogs in a trial in order for me to TRYOUT for this trial. I did not feel that this was correct or fir since to even become a national level helper you must have 2 teaching helpers verify that you have what it takes and video tape your certification, which in my case was done on completely separate days with 2 separate videos, and then you have to send it in to Mr. Smith for final review. I received phone calls from people I didn't even know asking if I was going to tryout and when I told them what happened they erupted in anger because it didn't seem fair. I am no one in this sport and I have no "political" ties. I just want to be given the same chance as everyone else. I worked very hard to even have the chance to be certified after 8 years of working dogs and then I'm told I cant tryout because I don't have video footage of me at a trial. Then I hear this stuff and it makes me lose a little faith. Not because of proof of anything but because of what wallacepayne said. The perception of what happens.

Probably doesn't make any difference. I was told there is a meeting today in Colorado to determine if WDA will continue to exist. It's probably time to move on.

@ Suzie, here is a quote from one of your earlier comments:

In Germany I pay for my membership within SV, but by paying SV I become part of VDH, too ( I don´t have to pay VDH, it´s payed throughout my SV membership). Did this happen to be the same with WDA / GSDCA or did/do you have to pay for both?

You actually bring up some very good points about eligibility in the IPO3 & FH Championships. In fact, if you read further into the rules, you would see that many are still not eligible because they do not have a WDA issued scorebook.  This part makes absolutely no sense to me.  I do somewhat understand that they want people whom are paying dues to both the GSDCA and WDA to be the main participants and benefactors of the event, but if someone was a somewhat recent immigrant to the USA or moved from a region with no WDA club, their dog simply would not have a WDA issued scorebook.  Sure the person could join WDA and GSDCA in short order, but the dog would still be excluded from participating because the scorebook was issued by another organization.  I also don't understand why an FCI registry number is not accepted in lieu of an AKC number, isn't this a WUSV event? Shouldn't either an AKC or FCI registry number be acceptable?

OGBS  - - You're wrong again............where do you get that shit from?

by Richard Medlen on 16 June 2014 - 22:06

OGBS:

Your post is shocking.  Where did your information come from and how dependable do  you actually think it might be? Given all the recent scuttlebutt,  I certainly can understand how Daniel Yee and his faction in the WDA may have worn out the WDA's welcome with the GSDCA. With that in mind, has the management of the organization become so completely dysfunctional and out of touch with reality that it now faces the prospects of falling into the precipice of complete oblivion?  If true, this is truly a sad day for those who labored over the years to make the WDA the pre-eminent conformation promoter for the world standard in the United States. Its Sieger Show, the NASS, came from nothing in 1997 to become the top event in this country but now, if the information posted by OGBS is true, the club  and the top conformation show in the country may be gone forever.

I think there are some interesting things coming from the GSDCA in the not too distant future. Stay positive and stay tuned Martini...cheers.

OGBS  -  I asked some wda elected officials.

I know what's going on in CO, if you want to know, you need to contact a wda elected official also.

Why not simply share that information?

I agree
