You should have done your homework before getting your wallet out.  You wouldn't have had to dig too deep to find out about these people.  Don't come on here ranting to people who are trying to help you and explain that this isn't LIFE ENDING.

by dwilliams on 27 November 2013 - 13:11

To Olga Ashley:  Thank you for you post !

A lot of what you posted is what my pups veterinarian explained to me  -  additionally, I was given other facts and information as well.  My pup had an injection of both Ivermectin and Immiticide yesterday.  In addition, I was provided with Goodwinol Ointment to apply once per day to the skin lesion on her ear as well as to another small area which was also discovered to be infected.  I've been advised that if the aforementioned medications do not contain the dermodex mange then other measures with quite unpleasant side effects and even worse adverse effects may have to be performed.

To beetree who wrote "Seems to me, she's not sure if her dog will change from the common localized demodectic mange to the more serious generalized condition because of a genetic immunity issue".  Your before noted statement is indeed my biggest concern at the moment however only time will tell.

To Hundmutter, Hired Dog & j haynes:  Unlike what is stated in your posts, I did indeed do my homework concerning Miami-Dade K-9 Services.  Further, if you took the time to do a bit of research yourselves prior to just arbitrarily posting you would know that this breeder also has favorable commentary on the internet - some of which is listed on this very sight by other members.  My decision to purchase my pup was made after weighing both the good and the bad and quite honestly it is of no fault of my own that Mike failed to give me all of the pertinent facts regarding my pups medical history.  To expand on this topic a bit more, there are other vendors such as The Room Store (furniture store) which have literally thousands of negative commentaries and complaints on the web in addition to positive feedback as well.  That being said, questions and/or concerns regarding my furnishings purchased from this vendor have always been handled to my satisfaction.  Based upon your peculiar logic, I should have experienced problems with and been lied to by the furniture vendor as well because I did not take heed of the numerous negative posts which I read - however as previously stated that was not the case.  Lastly on this subject, just because I do not fully agree with the opinions of certain members on this sight, like hexe and the two of you for instance, does not mean that I cannot provide updated information regarding Miami-Dade K-9 Services based upon the most recent developments.

Unlike you, one look at what they sell was enough to amuse me, did you see the bit about the dogs they took to a TV show that refused to engage the helper in the bite suit?
Maybe its because you cant read between the lines in the dog game, maybe its because I dont read nor pay attention to reviews, after all, they can be written by the person who is selling the product, as was/is the case here with this "breeder". Did you see how many people came in on that thread to defend him, all posting for the first time of course? Did you see the responses provided by said "breeder to those people?
Who writes in this fashion and "drips" with hugs and love and kisses when they speak to a supposed customer?

Your dog is not furniture, you are not dealing with a big company who has a reputation to consider, its a small time dog broker/breeder who will show up next week under another name selling dogs somewhere else. After all, how many Drs from Geneva are down in Miami selling shit dogs to people...or did you not notice that tidbit either?
Lesson learned like I said, next time, come in to a group like this, ask for names of breeders, spend several months looking at them, talk to some of the people who bought dogs from them, see how those dogs turned out and then think about investing money on a dog you want. Good luck.

Meh!  DO NOT PUT WORDS IN MY MOUTH.  I acknowledged you had done some
homework.  I then questioned the fact that you had still gone with them - to which
the answer might have been "Well, I saw some stuff elsewhere that I thought outweighed
the bad things ...".  But saying that would not suit your 'poor little hard-done-by me'
position, would it now ?

Having re-read the old post Bee provided the link to, I recall now that what happened was
either you or another poster started a 2nd thred on the same topic, ie the pros & cons
of MDK9 as breeders to buy from.  The moderators amalgamated the two.  Some posts,
including my own were deleted as a result; however please note: I did not slag off the kennel.
I am in the UK, so I have no knowledge of this breeder.  What I DID agree with was - as several
posters remarked - that it was odd that about 3 people, yourself included, suddenly joined the
thred out of nowhere, to defend what wonderful, helpful people the breeders were and how you
had a great dog from them.  One of your posts was accompanied by the picture of your teenage
son with the pup;  I expressed some concern that the kennel might be using a juvenile to speak
on their behalf, and if so I thought that was unfair exploitation of the juvenile.  So nothing of what
you have accused me of has been true;  all that we can agree on is that I have passed on the
benefit of my experience with Demodex over 40+ years involvement with dogs [and vets!], but that
you do not agree with my (non-Veterinary) assessment of the progress of this mite.    (The fact
that I got much of my knowledge from talking to my own vets, and that so many other posters have
all said much the same things, and they have linked you to sites also saying much the same things,
seems to have sailed over your head.)

BTW you did not answer my question about what you would have done if it had been your bitch / litter.

So I am done, here.  You want to be a fool about this matter affecting your pup and in terms of continuing
to chastise the breeder about it, be my guest !  But don't complain if it all comes back at some point and
bites you in the bum !

To Vonrivera:  READ the posts that I've written - I have never discussed buying a car on this site - unbelievable !

by Blitzen on 27 November 2013 - 14:11

Is the concern outting Miami Dade or doing right by the puppy and the breed?

by Blitzen on 27 November 2013 - 14:11

Hundmutter some of my posts to the previous thread about this breeder were deleted too.

by dwilliams on 27 November 2013 - 14:11

To Hundmutter:  So finally you're done - well good because your input has not been beneficial in the least little bit.  Without doubt, you realize that I did not post regarding this unfortunate situation so as to elicit advice on my pups medical condition but rather to share my most current experience with Miami-Dade K-9 Services.

Further, I will not answer ridiculous "what if" questions regarding breeding as I have no expertise in this field.  3000+ posts  - do you even have a dog ?  It seems that someone like you, who has time to write post after long-winded post, in an attempt to convince others to accept your opinion, could not possibly do much more all day, everyday but troll the internet and live vicariously through others
.

by joanro on 27 November 2013 - 15:11

dwilliams, Look at page one, you made reference, not once, but twice of buying a car. Unbelievable.

by Blitzen on 27 November 2013 - 15:11

dwilliams, did Miami Dade ask you to give them a positive review the first time you posted here or did  you do that on your own?
