You said it Jerry. Nothing but BS. This will end in litigation. Perhaps there is still a sane judge in Ky. Best Wishes, Jonah

Dont count on the sane Judge, this and many other wild policies are arupting all over USA Turning loose child molesters, just becausee they missed their court date, giveing childmolesters 6mos probated sentences, and this dog ordinance is already going all over America and u better watch for it in your city, It came to Tyler , Tex in November and so many dog breeders and owner showed up ,city hall ran the other way and it never got on the agenda , this time...its been delayed but if they slip it in, u better be waatching....its called total government control in this country, takae God out of our schools, pledge, public places, and out of the home and the government slips into control in the back door.,,,,,,It happened in New Jersey and the senator that tried to represent the bill got so many emails he had to back out......AKC got involved in that one.....The Judges will not stand against it...Judges have a back pocket.....

Unfortunately, this legislation was recently passed in Louisville. To combat future animal rights and anti-dog nonsense, it is imparative that responsible dog owners, regardless of club or breed affiliation, pay attention to legislative alerts and speak out when such legislation is pending. In-fighting only sweakens us. We have to stick together.

If you don't police your own breed politicians will.

I am so tired of this. All of it is nuts, who is going to overdose their dog on rabbies vaccine. If they had a clue, maybe a titers test The laws that should be passsed, 1.If you purchase a DOG/PUPPY you have to attend training classes, with your new addititon. 2. You must walk your dog daily 3. Enforce leash laws 4. Health Cert once a year If they would just insure the training of the owners, get the dogs out of the backyards/and out and about, protect the health of the animal. They would improve the life of the animal and the saftey of the public.

Saxtonhil is absolutely correct. This is what happens when people like you and I sit back all unconcerned when legislators enacts BSL that doesn't effect GSD's. I read very few protests on any GSD board about banning Pits from certain cities since it didn't effect us. That is a very dangerous assumption. I'll put my head on the block once again and say that no one is doing this breed (o any breed) one bit of good by putting videos on the net showing GSD's attacking humans, being corrected with e-collars, being flanked, table trained, hanged until they pass out. To the general public and the AR groups, these videos are what they love to see and use again those of you who train in protection work. They also use such videos to "prove" how dangerous this breed is and there is the start of BSL banning owning a GSD. Best to keep things like that under wraps and distribute them privately to those who are like minded. Even then they will eventaully fall into the wrong hands. If you don't think about what you are doing, Schutzhund Trials may some day be banned in the US as they already are in some other countries. I might be a rush for many to see these dogs and trainers bahving badly, but to others it is animal abuse at its worst. Think about it ..............

First question I would have is WHY? Animal Services, City councel etc. Don't just wake up one morning and go "mmmm... I think I'll pass a very restrictive ordinance re; dog ownership...seems like a thing to do today" Some facts; "Besides 2 people being mauled to deathin 2005, Louisville Metro Animal Services' Animal Care Center receives an average of over 14,000 animals annually Metro Animal Services employs 17 Animal Control Officers who investigate over 24,000 complaints in an average year that range from bite cases to severe inhumane treatment". These ordinances are totally absurd and to the responsible pet owners, unfair. Problem is nation wide the number of irresponsible owners are outnumbering the responsible ones and with that these ordinances will keep getting passed, unfortunatly. Uwe
