Nan thanks for the nice post,,,:)
I will probably not neuter Prince to be perfectly honest,,,I do not wink lightly at invasive procedures or altering God given parts and pieces,,He is going to the vet to have all his blood work done on Wednesday of this week. Then he will be leaving early the following week to spend a week or two with Kelly,,At that time with Kelly's input I will decide what I feel is best with regard to neutering ,,..:)

I wasn't talking about "saving" him...or trying to help from a keyboard. I was talking about the people who have actual experience- Keith with Axel and Kelly, because she's actually worked the dog. I'm so glad he's headed back to her for a refresher and to get her perspective. That's great news. Everyone who hasn't had their hands on the dog is trying to help, but my point was to take everything anyone says in perspective and imo, your best bet is to put your trust in those who KNOW, not those who are guessing, albeit helpful and kind. Remember, you've been down this road before...more than once. I don't know how old he is, but as long as I've been active on this board, you've had problems with him. It must be very stressful to live with a dog like that and I really hope Kelly can put this puzzle together and you and Prince can reach a permanent understanding this time. Heart

Jenni,,.I know what you were talking about and I wanted to use it as an opportunity to especially recognize two people who supported and encouraged me from the bleak beginning,,~~It is my thread so I felt I could take the liberty,,lol,,~~Kelly, for her encouraging words of support and hands on training with Prince,, And Jim, for all knowledgeable advice, phone conversations, and who was also ready and willing to come to me and evaluate and work with Prince.... Keith,  Qman,  and even Phil >bless his heart<.. were all extremely supportive and willing to help too...it chokes me up to think of it...:)

Honestly, I can not talk about this subject without talking about  "saving" Prince and all the "helping" from the keyboard because it has made ALL the difference in the world to me, my family, and Prince...it is still making a difference,,

I know that there has been bad advice given on PDB,, And the faithful few ~ You're one of them Jenni ~ expose it for what it is most of the time...This helps people more then many probably realize,,~~And from a keyboard no less!!!..

I am heart broken about Axel, but with all do respect I do not think Prince has the same issues so Keith's experience is different from mine I think..Time will tell,,And yes, it is stressful to live with a dog like Prince. but it has been a lot of fun too...

Deanna, you are doing the right thing by sending Prince back for a refresher,
but please keep in mind, you need to seriously alter your handling of him.
I'm betting he has simply been building to this point, and you have ignored or
simply not seen the 'signs' he was giving you. He sounds like a dog that will
require very black and white crystal clear handling every day of his life. If you
give an inch he will take 7
. Slam, Laura and Sheesh have given you great examples
of how you do in fact need to manage him every day. These are not always the
easiest types of dogs to live with, but they can be fun once you get used to the
fact, if anything, they will keep you sharp Wink Smile

Paul, have you talked to people here about a PPD? Workingdogz, Slam, Joanro, Desert Dog, Prager et al? Maybe Matt Devaney could give you some references (he's not a member here as far as  know). Where does Homeland Security get their dogs?

Maybe a Rottie, Mali, Cane Corso, Dobe, one of the Mastiff breeds, a Kuvasz?

Blitzen....Yes I have and it just takes time. I like Mali's but finding what I want without bad nerve is hard. The rest are just bad choices. But like I said I am a GSD guy. I am in no hurry and if I get that way I will go to Germany and find a dog.

Addressed to Laura

Were you at the PSA trial in Mississauga with your dog?  If so he did quite well, one of my favorite dogs on the field yesterday despite the outing problems.  If not this dog was the spitting image of yours..lol.  Also handled by a Laura.

@Haz - LOL. Not I but that Laura must have a really beautiful dog. :)
My husband, Martin, trains Bosco in IPO.

Haha just checking nice male handled by a Laura he would not out and unfortunately failed to get his PDC but still quite nice for a young male and one of the better dogs on the field that day imo.  My mistake and he was quite the looker Thumbs Up.

Good luck, Paul.
