Ok - why not just do your own xrays?

Yogie, $$. That, and I guess there's the principle of the thing, in that when the dog was purchased she came with a set of films.

So do the xrays have all the necessary info on them to submit thru the SV - Joint USA- owner can submit them thru them.........if not - cut your loss if you delt with a crook - take more xrays - and be done with it............  Sometimes there is principle but sometimes you just need to turn and run - it isn't worth a fight.........  lesson learned...........

Yes, it's Farah's xrays.  When I purchased her I got her films with her.  She was around 16 months old.  The former
owner recently said they are still good and to send them into SV for her  "a" stamp.
Another breeder just said they are only good for 6 months.
If they can be used I'd like to send them in and get her  "a"   stamp, if not I'll just go the  OFA route as she's over 2 yrs. old.
I'm not sure if you can still use them with  new owner, and has old owners info on them ?   I am getting all of mine OFA'd  I have
apt. next week reserved to do 2 dogs.  If it's not possible to use those xrays then I'll just get them redone.  I read about all the
arguments and stuff over the  WDA and USA  different clubs and not sure where to send the xrays ?

WDA paperwork states: Radiographs must be current-within 6 months of submission.

I've submitted all my films to OFA myself. Has that rule changed lately. I haven't had to send films in awhile so maybe I've lagged in keeping up.

in America the UScA and the GSDCA-WDA can submit xrays to the SV for the owner.
you will need to be a member of one of the clubs and then follow their instructions.

if the dog was less then 12 months old when xrays were taken, you will have to get another set.

in America you can have preliminary readings if you send the xrays to the OFA, but they usually are sent thru your veterinarian.

do you trust the seller enough to believe the xrays are of the actual dog you have?

I don't know, except for all her info. is on the xrays.    Would
I give her the xrays to send in ?  Hell NO   I'm going to my vet next Friday I'll show him and ask
him what he thinks.

If I can't use them, I'll just redo them for OFA.  My vet is in St. Louis and Dr. Keller originally worked
there for many years, before going to OFA    He trained the vet that's there now for many years too.
I get in pretty quick and he knows what he's doing.

It is good that you are going to redo her films.

My veterinarians scanned and checked the information on the microchip on the dog making sure it matched the information on the German Annentafel prior to taking any xrays... It is required in their practice and it is a required procedure per the 'a' stamp program.  The breeder of this dog had her pre-xrayed in Germany prior to my importing her at the age of 8 months..She was imported within two weeks..  The films that you have were taken of age for the a-stamp... However, I did like the films better of the xrays that were done of her prior to importing... I did not sedate the dog when we had her 'a' stamp films done, and now it is required per the SV to sedate every 'a' stamp candidate...
