Hrm, seems to be a wide variety of opinions on this dog. Not everyone will agree on these type of things, I understand. Thanks for your input so far, and keep it coming. If you have other suggestions, I'd be happy to see them.

Peg- Many breeders buy titled dogs and then breed them, there is nothing wrong with that. Sounds like you have a personal problem with Connie. Keep it out of this board.

Well, Peg, the question just begs to be answered... why even start the thread if you're looking for a podium dog with all your vast experience in the sport of Schutzhund? Not everyone out there wants or breeds for podium dogs, and those that do will seldom look for a DDR dog quite frankly. Not everyone out there can handle a dog with overly high drives. Should they not be able to buy a dog with drives that suit their lives? And do you think for a minute that every puppy in Germany out of outstanding workingline litters goes to a working home?? I can tell you I have a som of the two-time world Champion Eros vd Mohnwiese, which will probably be a club-level dog, but doubtful as a National-level competitor because he belongs to someone very much like Connie, who does not have a club nearby and does not have a helper or a schedule conducive to working this dog on the sleeve everyday. Some of us with full-time jobs have to buy dogs already titled. In the case of Puck, Connie bought him out from under ME, when he was a young male with only a BH. She then sent him to a trainer in Germany and had him titled and koer'd before she brought him home. Not a thing wrong with that. And every breeder out there sells puppies, or you and other lookers wouldn't have any to buy. What sense did THAT comment make? Of course there's money, but how can you leap to the arrogant conclusion that she is only in it for the money? I can tell you this.. I know several people Connie has refused to sell a puppy to for various reasons, and I was one of them on one occasion, heheheh. So it is NOT about the money for her! Her prices are very reasonable for the quality and bloodlines that she breeds. I know of some other breeders who are selling pups for twice Connie's rates. Connie is quite diligent to bring in well-bred, titled dogs with hip certification and Koer, which is a far cry more breeders in the USA do. Back to Puck, Connie also owned Puck's paternal Grandsire Larry v Wolfseck, who was an LGA competitor, and she owned Murphy v Schwarzhorn, littermate to Puck's maternal grandsire Muchta, also an LGA competitor. Kudos Connie! Keep up the good work. And last but not least, Dogmann, Peg and Funkman -= If you have questions about the dog, as well as his prufung scores and working ability, ask Connie. I'm sure she will be quite candid. Judy Malone

As far as I know from Connie, she bought a dog in Germany that did not have all his schutzhund titles and is getting him completely titled before he comes to the USA. I don't think there is anything wrong with doing that, like Judy said some of us don't have very good clubs to go to or they are to far away and don't mix with our working schedule. But all in all, COLOGSD you just have to do some homework and find a puppy/dog that will fit you and your life style. The best thing is to take your time, don't be in a hurry, and talk to the breeder, ask questions even if they sound stupid ask. Cross your T's and dot your I's. Good Luck!!

Thank you all for your opinions, but the personal negativity is certainly not what I was interested in.

I don't know Puck at all (but do like his looks)but I have also met his dam Saskia and REALLY liked her!!! Very social dog, freindly, good drives and very pretty.

Altosland, I do not need to ask anyone. The broker told me in an email if I was looking for a top level competitor to look at other lines-Not Grafental because they did not have the drives necessary for it. DM
