The UKC championship is a very nice title to have, but the UKC Grand Champion title is earned under more serious competition.

If I had a nice GSD I would definitely show it at UKC shows. Some of my friends have so much fun at those shows, I feel as if I'm missing out LOL.

... I can see this now, all the Political higher ups with Champion Show Dogs in the AKC will shun the non- show dogs who can Champion through WDS.... does anyone know the reason for the first AKC WDS Trial period 5 years ago to fail?

Do you mean WDA? Our club is a GSDCA-WDA club. Compared to what's going on in USA these days, we're pretty happy with WDA. I do hope they get a breed warden/tattoo prgram going though, ala USA and SV. When I was no longer a member of a "local" USA club, USA "defrocked" me of my positions as BW and Asst. Tattooer. I still think that sucks, as I am still a member of USA and we can always use more of both. Its a lo-o-n-n-g way to "offical" USA personnel. I don't register litters with USA anymore anyway: too $$$! Oh well.

Maybe the GSD's showing the the UKC are more of the golden middle that we discuss. So it might even be a good thing if SV dogs stayed away? Just a thought and not an insult.
