How can I know that I sell to right person? I do not know but I can predict if someone spent on pregnant female 5000, 6000 or more EURO that person will have enough less money to invest everything what is important for mother and newborn babies to enjoy all together in happiness of birth and celebration of life. ... no one know where or where my bloodlines end up. I think that nobody today could not posses "bloodline". And I could not make new "bloodline", my bloodline, and control them. I can only try to make correct dog. And I think that today we have not got good "kennel" bloodline - we have good dog bloodline and then we talk about Zamp, Quantum, Uran not about Thermodos, Arminius or Wildsteigerland and in every one of them about their inner lines. So as I tell you I can only try to make correct dog and if he is correct my work will have better chance to survive. Every breeder try to choose the best puppy from every interesting litter and for them he try to arrange controlled "good" home. But if we are talking about puppies it is very easy to make mistake and first chosen is not always the best pick up as growing GSD puppies have many growing phases and through them until puppy maturing is not finished it is not possible to 100% predict quality. It is lottery. Breeding is very hard game. It is big difference between kinology and kinophylia. You can not do it without feeling but you must overpower feelings and ratio must win. If you are not sharp you will have not got good results. And you are always in battle with time. Female breeding life is short. And you are always in battle with different diseases, genetic problems and after all with death. For a lot of that kind of disappointment you must find own strength to fight and continue your work. I have GSD in my flat, other in my company, other in my house on coast - but there are pets. Breeding, working and showing dogs are something else. They have each of them different treatment and it is to improve their possibilities on the best way. And it is a job for big experienced team not for one person. If you ask me about my feelings I can give you very simple answer and it is same for me in similar situation in difference between human parents with only one child and parents with 4 or 5 children.- I must share my heart to everyone. And I have situation when I felt almost like selling off a kid like Blitzen said - but I must. I could not posses great number of dogs. I must share my dogs with other people. It is normal to guarantee that the bitch is in fact pg. It is not kind of game " beleave me - she is pregnant. You must take ultrasound examination and show it to costumer. And after all - I am not living of buying, breeding and selling dogs. My dogs and my family live of my own private business and that job have not got nothing in common with dogs. GSD is my passion

Blitzen, we form a very very close relationship with all of our dogs, we don't feel too bad, because we make sure we find a very responsible and caring home for any dog or puppy we sell. We learned our lesson sometime ago that not everyone is as they seem. We understand that in this age and time not everyone wants too much personal information exchanged, we politely send them on their way to find a breeder who will sell to anyone. We are not in Germany, we are a USA based kennel with all European working stock. We offer a ten day guarantee on any puppy or adult sold from our kennel, this guarantee starts the day the dog or puppy is received by the new owner.

Sorry, but I think I'll just pass on making anymore comments on this thread.

Yellowrose, It is possible that she has not sold because she is in Serbia. Buyers prefer to buy from Germany out of top producing lines. She is linebred on Ulk, but has few close relatives who are very famous. This does not make her any less dog, just harder to sell. People are looking for the daughters of this years VA group. The kennel has done well in Serbia, and they should be able to answer your questions. Best Wishes, Jonah

yellowrose, One other thing to think about is this. What is the fastest way to get rid of a normal or average female? Advertise her pregnant to a top well known dog? this is one reason why females that a pregnant are sold in whelp. Also space is a big issue to in europe.A friend of mine just got a co ownership of a female that was v 10 in germany for nothing if he would whelp the litter. Why because the breeder wanted to keep a pup or 2 and needed space. My friend in turn sold his nice young 18month bitch that was winning because he needed space for the new bitch. Not everything is supicious or wrong when u see this happen. Also I think the chances of getting a top dog outside of germany is better than getting one in germany. A lot oF countries breed dogs of excellent quality besides Germany.France, belguim, Italy, Spain, Hungary,Czech Republic and Slovakia are just a few places i would look besides Germany. ceddyg

Well, I'm personally looking for a female in welp..so I guess I can contribute to this thread a bit. There are alot of breeders out there that DO sell females in welp .. if people can travel pregnant, then so can dogs safely.. I think. I'm not a breeder so I need to have a plan "B". My reasoning behind a female in welp is ... I want to pick the best "prospect" out of the litter for my purposes, not someone else. Only I know what I want to achive with my goals. I'm very stubborn sometimes. Most prices are very high for females in welp, why I don't know. I guess it would pay if the puppies were sold for profit young... but I don't plan on doing that. I just need a group of young pups the same age for "novice" and or "green" handlers who want to partake in Sports. I really don't think it that bad.

Buying a pregnant female and having it shipped can be a risk, you need to decide if it's worthwhile. Some friends of ours have had some successes and some that didn't make it over pregnant even after a solid ultra sound. Decide before you buy if the female is worth it to you even if she arrives not pregnant, or with a very small litter. Ours made it over pregnant but our ultra sound shows a very small litter. I plan on trialing her so she is still worth it. I don't think we could have found a comparable female here for the price so whatever puppies she has is a bonus.

Yellowrose, The male is fine as a young working line dog. I hesitate to be too critical as structural conformity is not the emphasis in the working breed. With maturity he should fill out and become more massive. He has a large head that should strengthen with maturity. He shows some limitation in proportions (somewhat long centerpiece) and short croup and upper arm. Bear in mind that many find working line dogs to be the best companions and working partners and do not miss the structural conformity or showing ability. It is really a question of what type of dog you prefer. It's a hard life for males. Competition is tough, and only the best get stud bookings. I prefer to stick with females and let someone else invest in the high stakes stud ownership. Best Wishes, Jonah
