Hi all,

Sorry if my previous post caused any confusion.

The listed price above was for 2 Oz treat bags. 3.5 Oz, 100 gram treat bags are between $12.50 and $13 CAD. I find this to be too pricey. Yes my dog loves their Tundra type treats, but I am not sure if its worth at this price point.

I have not found the price for the food bags, will know it probably by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
However looking at the treat bags size/price I think that 16 Oz food bags will be up in the range of $40-$50.
I don't think that (If my guess is correct) at this price range I will be able to afford to feed my dog with this type of food as he,  according to their feeding guide, would need 13 to 16  medallions per day.
They state that one bag (not sure if its 6 Oz or 16 Oz) has approximately 30 medallions total.

If my guesstimate is correct, at this price range this type of Orijen food will be (financially) suitable only for smaller type dogs.
Will know more soon.

The shop that I buy my pet food from called Orijien today and asked them about this new frozen food. Orijen said that it is not available yet, but it will be this year some time.

Guess we will have two keep waiting..

Hi all,

I have some update on pricing of this new Orijen type food.
You will not like my new information, as I did not like it my self when I heard it first.

There will be two size of bags available: smaller one (6 Oz I think) which has total of around 13 pucks in it, and a bigger one which has a total of around 30 pucks in it.

Price of smaller bag is $14 CAD
Price of bigger bag is $32 CAD

On average 77 lbs GSD should be receiving around 13 pucks per day.
This means that in order to feed my dog this type of food I would need to spend $14 a day. I can not afford that.
Switching to complete raw food will not cost that much per day.

According to my information source, most pet stores will try to avoid to get this type of food in their stores in the first place as they know that it will not sell that well, if at all.

Compare this with a high quality dry kibble which is on average max $3.5 per day. I think I will stick with dry kibble for now :)

I feed primarily raw, but always keep Orijen kibble on hand as a rotation option.  My dogs do well switching from raw to the orijen kibble no stomach upset.  I like the quality of their food.  All premade raw options are expensive and the freeze dried foods are no exception.  But to have on hand to use on occaision or use when traveling it is convenient.  So I look forward to this new option.  I just bought a small bag of the Stella and Chewies freeze dried my little Border collie liked it.  I would not feed on regualr basis , but we are on the road alot trialing and this is a good option for us.  This way i don't have to travel with raw.
